Ways to inhibit Semen Production
« on: December 24, 2019, 05:10:02 PM »
Greetings fellow POISers,
I have been free of POIS for about 10 years, after having an experimental surgery... detailed in 2 other threads: "the Animus Solution", and "Why did Castration work". I also did a TV show also years ago to publicize the illness, my treatment etc.  I recently recounted the exact surgeries I did, and their effects on me in the latter thread. Please have a look there to catch up.

Recently Demografix and others reached out to me again after many years to see how I was doing. And I was happy for his contact, as I am doing well, and POIS is no longer an issue for me. Additionally, I would like to contribute my knowledge/ personal Success Story, and experience to finding a Less Invasive Cure to POIS>  I think it's possible.

As I recently responded in "that familiar feel", "why Castration worked":

"I think the theory that led me to do these surgeries... can possibly be used as a starting point of investigation. As a theoretical model.  One which we know has a positive outcome. That Theory, being: POIS is caused by the Regeneration of Semen after Ejaculation. This theory is what prompted, and guided ME to have the surgeries I had, in order to achieve "dry ejaculation",... or ejaculation without any discharge of Semen.  I sought to drastically reduce my body's ability to produce semen / sperm.
This Theory may dovetail well with other Theories, so it is not exclusive in itself....   but I think the common denominator is the semen one way or another.  All we do know, is that what I did worked...

The best case scenario moving forward, would be to find a treatment which can be done... which inhibits Semen Production.  There are existing drugs, treatments out there which Inhibit Semen production, used to treat other illnesses. (radiation of the prostate, chemo drugs) if you google "inhibit semen production" that would be my starting point."

So with that in mind. What I'd like to do is HARNESS the collective investigation power that we have as a FORUM...  First to compile all the NON-Surgical WAYS in Which Semen Production can be Inhibited/ or ELIMINATED.

The Second thing I would like is for this to ultimately LEAD TO CLINICAL TRIALS.  where we can determine what works, do safe, controlled experiments.

I'll start a LIST here, of KNOWN TREATMENTS FOR REDUCING SEMEN PRODUCTION.
Usually people search for the opposite result, but there are many existing treatments, procedures, drugs,... which already are known to decrease semen volume.  Speaking from experience,  I think this could be our BEST CHANCE to find a cure for many of those which suffer from POIS.  And I'm looking forward to this journey.

Please contribute your findings, and comments, and let's get started on this.

thank you,
Animus

Thank you. Looking forward to see the list.
Of course not a naive thing and everyone before taking a risk should consult professionals.
no sugar diet helps me a tiny bit, also makes my mind much calmer in general. Sugar is definitely something my body does not handle well. Also I noticed that other inflammations like a hangover are better since I quit sugar. I avoid sweet fruits as well.

Wonderful news, Animus!

Thank you. Looking forward to see the list.

Thank you, Spartak! I’m sure Animus will add our forum advice to always work with a physician. Not for everyone, but my own personal best medical ally/monitor has been a university-affiliated endocrinologist. A friend who is a Harvard biophysicist pioneer in AIDS advised me to find a university-affiliated MD, because the university medical practitioner is often the most research-oriented...which is what a POISer needs!

10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

Perhaps we can revive this old POIS Treatment thread?

I did a TV show years ago to publicize the [POIS] illness, and my treatment.

Well. I'm serious.... look guys.  My end goal here is Clinical Trials. OK.
So what we need to do is seriously look at possible ways to limit semen production.
Because that is Fundamentally WHAT I DID.
OK.  So let's look at ways to shut down the Prostate, the Seminal  Vesicles, and the Testicles... ok.
Perhaps it may be through radiation, or chemical castration, or a combination of the both.
I need to research it more.
Demo, thanks as always for the useful links!!

Animus, a Clinical Trials goal sounds great!

I attempted to get my TRT manufacturer, Watson Pharma, to do one for POISCenter. I wasn’t successful in convincing them, and I suspect the size of the “POIS market” (off-label application) wasn’t big enough to get them excited.

Certainly not the market size of hypogonadism patients worldwide.

But I’m sure there’s a Clinical Trial opportunity for us. Just not with “The Giants” of pharma-land.

My earliest POIS theory had to do with the refractory period and the speed of semen regeneration. My assumption was that since POIS recovery occurred at the same time as feeling “full”, I assumed that my POIS was a result of slow recovery. I had no hard evidence to back it up. Does that hypothesis make any sense to you? (No offense if you say “no!” :) )

Animus, can you recommend a mid-size semen inhibition pharma prospect for a POIS Clinical Trial? Chemo mfr.? Wait till we study/zero-in better for a likely candidate or two?
