It's a pity only 19 people responded. I found this an interesting one...
Myself, i already have the impression for a while that there are a disproportionate number of people from middle-eatern origin present.

If I remember, it has been proved than Pois hits mainly white/caucasian men.

And the beginning of symptoms often start at puberty or 50 years (andropause?).

Sex hormones almost definitely.

This thread is more about where you live in terms of location. You might set up a poll or multiple polls about race, ethnic groups, descendancy etc. Not sure how they are all defined. North Africans are different in appearance than Africans from the West part of Africa, idem dito for East and West Africans (different race or same race but different ethnic group?). Perhaps you want to include culture into the poll which can reflect habits as in diet etc. I think your impression is more ethnic group related I think, I'm not sure.

Sex hormones almost definitely.
My mother, aunt and grandma all felt better during pregnancy. The hormone change might modulate something.

I was roaming around on the pregnancy page of wikipedia and found this interesting:
''Progesterone also causes decreased motility of the ureters, which can lead to stasis of the urine and hence an increased risk of urinary tract infection.''

I wonder if there is a higher risk of urinary tract infection in autonomic disorders. I got autonomic problems myself and GI motility issues, maybe this could lead to GI infection. There was an incident where this actually might have happened. High temperature--->high GI dysmotility---> exploding belly pain. In that order.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maternal_physiological_changes_in_pregnancy#Renal_and_lower_reproductive_tract

Progesterone seems to go up during pregnancy. Could have an effect on mast cells. I wrote something about that here:

I think we need to do research on hormones that are connected with limbic system behavior, especially on dopamine.

My POIS only happens with masturbation. Normal sex does not generate POIS symptoms. My POIS is related to me mood and the health of my cervical spine. Dopamine/Inflammation/Body constitution (genetics) are factors that contribute to POIS.

I would like if POISERS from ex Yugoslavia contact me, it would be nice to have someone to speak in our own language about common enemy.
no sugar diet helps me a tiny bit, also makes my mind much calmer in general. Sugar is definitely something my body does not handle well. Also I noticed that other inflammations like a hangover are better since I quit sugar. I avoid sweet fruits as well.

Part of my family is from Yugoslavia, but I don’t speak the language.

Forum member HOD aka Hopeoneday’s primary language is Croatian.

I did a similar survey once before it was taken down and that one showed an overwhelming majority of members came from the USA. These folks tend to vote less I guess.

Suffering from exercise intolerance since April 2020.
