Pois and rare metabolic disorder.
« on: September 27, 2018, 04:29:10 PM »
As i resarching pois  i am now traying conect medical test results
(wich i resarched from this forum and NS forum) and symptomes from poisers
to posible diese, my opinion that there is posibility for one side of poisers-if not all, to
hawe some rare metabolic disorder in diferent forms.
Diferent form is because one metabolic disie can be in dozents of forms wich i show
down in wiki links.

I hawe opinion that medical test results must talk something to us, because
ewry abnormality from low side to hi side in test results talk something is wrong
or not working as it should. Aspesualy if abnormality from test results is not so comon
"read normal exes smoething or lower range". For exemple hawing low netrophil count
is not normal and comon etc..

As i notice neutrophil patern in one side of poisers Nana put it in tabele and it
is showed that this is rare condition(hawing low neutrophil count).
http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2695.60

Then i resarch rare dieses and wiky tru neutrophils lead me to this:

Glucose 6-phosphatase
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glucose_6-phosphatase

The one of the tipe glucose-6-phosphatase deficiency is caracteristic for congenital
neutropenia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glucose_6-phosphatase#Clinical_significance

As i am colecting medical test results for our medical test results tread, i am
trying to find abnormalitys and posible comon paterns for one side of poisers.

I noticed elevated creatine in some poisers:

That lead me to one type of Glycogen storage disease wich is rare:

Diagnose- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phosphofructokinase_deficiency#In_humans_4

There is 15 tipes of Glycogen storage disease:

Hi Acth, elevated creatine.

His test results:

New tests results:
From the same batch I have made few weeks ago :
(POIS day 3, early in the morning, blood test in hospital)
ACTH 16.0 (2.0-11.0) pmol/L ,  I was surprised by this one,
I don't know how to interpret this result..
Cortisol : 533 (138-690)nmol/L

(POIS day 3, 24h urine test in hospital)
Creatinine 17.3  (7.1-15.9) MMOL/D
Cortisol, I'll repor

From the wiki page, it looks like most of the symptoms of these types of disease are growth/developmental, meaning you should see something happening at early age. This makes it less plausible that this is what is happening to POISers.
Male, INTJ. POIS symptoms: red eyes, ear-pain, anxiety, speech problems, pale/ugly skin, stiff neck, double chin, tinnitus, light sensitivity. POIS even after stimulation without O.

Not all dizzy. Read carifuly this tipe for exemple :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycogen_storage_disease_type_V#Diagnosis

I think that this is worth to inwesitgate, maybe we hawe problems with glycogen storage in some form.

It says-Symptoms include exercise intolerance with muscle pain, early fatigue, painful cramps...

Is this sound formiliyar???

I am not forcing eny teory, but i think that is worth to be checked(resarched by poisers) and checked in hospital if enywone hawe posybility.

I like this Glycogen theory by Hopeoneday, tieing into how POIS is maybe partly a metabolic problem (energy, regeneration, fatigue etc).Would explain why for some people it was fixed randomly by diet (or gut bacteria) change.

Some things I found out:
Creatine can help MUSCLES to store more glycogen if you do strength exercises (for muscle growth).
Taurine can help LIVER to store more glycogen.

Nice infographics: https://www.wikihow.com/Restore-Glycogen .. interesting: "Expect at least 20 hours to restore the glycogen." (after exercise!)

Maybe you mean creatiNIne which is a different thing?

PS: Also interesting how (intermittent) fasting is a big hype in the online health communities but not so much here in the forum. Maybe because it energy or nutrient depletes us even more, including blood sugar swings etc.? But maybe I made the wrong conclusions here from using the search function

When googling for glycogen orgasm I found articles claiming that men fall asleep after sex because glycogen in muscles is removed/depleted/whatever. This sounds wrong or incomplete to me, but I'd still like to note it.

'Mark Leyner and Billy Goldberg, M.D., authors of Why Do Men Fall Asleep After Sex?, offer an additional biological explanation: “It is thought that exertion during sex and after climax depletes the muscles of energy-producing glycogen. This leaves men feeling sleepy. Since men have more muscle mass than women, men become more tired after sex.”'

So hypothesis is: Maybe (some) POISers have problems with glycogen re-generate metabolism?

Would be interesting: Find out what happens to liver glycogen on orgasm? Find out how much glycogen is directly or indirectly (carbs/sugar) used to regenerate semen?

Note: If I try repleneshing (maybe by honey or other food) after orgasm in evening, I wake up with IBS-bloaty-gas symptoms. So this is not an option. Taking honey then in next morning is fine though.
I'd even say it's essential for me to take honey or juice early in the morning to keep my stressed feelings at bay.

(I think this is only one problem of POIS, e.g. the fatigue/weakness axis. It does not explain the brain fog or the pain axis or the IBS axis. So it also is not so relevant for the women-with-POIS part)

Firs two three day i suscesifuly kicking out pois with combination
of coffe and taurine.

Well coffee helps me a LOT too.

Coffee also relates to Glycogen... are we on to something here?
