Back for round 2, same as it ever was...
« on: September 21, 2020, 02:58:18 PM »
hello all,

Took a break from poiscenter and yourbrainrebalanced, about a year now and still suffering from these post-ejaculatory problems. Longest I went recently without pmo was 22 days. Had an O and immediately got symptoms an hour later that went on for about 2 days. Much better than when I typically pmo (once every 3 days about), but still bad enough that it doesn't seem like porn is actually my problem ;P

Symptoms for me come and go with intensity and duration. Some times it'll last a day or two, sometimes it'll last 5-7 days. Occasionally ill get migraines with the symptoms. I'm not sure if anyone else has made this correlation, but if I don't fully empty out after an O, I feel my symptoms are a whole lot worse. On to my symptoms. Let me know if these sound more like pois symptoms or if you think they're the result of porn addiction.

- fatigue (not tired, more like a chronic fatigue feeling that rest doesn't help)
- facial pressure, this one is huge. My eyes and forehead feel like they're swollen when they actually aren't. I feel this might be related to migraine, but I don't really get the headache phase.
- anxiety attacks, doesn't usually start until the next day. I'll be extremely on edge and just plain awful feeling. At the same time I'll feel extremely flat. No depressed, but ill notice that I have no emotion whatsoever.
- agoraphobia, over the years this has gotten better, but I notice an uptick after O for a few days.
- migraine symptoms, mostly speech and comprehensive issues, have trouble focusing and can't read and talk correctly. Bad memory lapses and forget things that any other time I would have no trouble remembering. Also get pins and needles feelings In my hands and feet.

All of these feelings completely disappear after about a week after O, regardless if i watched porn or not (happened after 23 days of no porn). I notice it will be worse if I O more frequently, or like I said, will feel worse if I don't "fully empty" after the O. Sometimes its a delayed reaction, where it won't start for 2 or 3 days after O. Sometimes it'll be within hours.

I really hate the unpredictability of this, but I can always count on the symptoms being the same every time, albeit at different frequencies of severity. Unlike most here, I didn't always have pois, and I think I have an explanation as to how I got it.

In spring of 2015, during sex one night, I somehow felt a horrible "catch" feeling after a thrust while on bottom. I don't really know if this was why, but after O I noticed a little blood was in the semen. I either hit her IUD, or something else happened where I ruptured something in my urethra. I took antibiotics just encase it was a UTI, and about a week later the blood stopped and it wasn't painful to pee or O any more.

Fast forward about 4 or 5 months and this is where I started to notice pois symptoms. I was 29 at the time. It wasn't bad at first, just mild brain fog and slight anxiety, but over the next two years it built to what I get now. The only thing I can think of is that my body introduced semen into my blood stream during that weird painful encounter and somehow my body decided for whatever reason that it was now a foreign invader and gives me these symptoms now after almost every O. Like I said before, the more that stays in after O, the worse the symptoms seem to get. Ill also get this pretty bad even if I don't O, like edging with no release. The only thing that works is complete abstinence and no porn (at least until the next O).

I'm not disciplined enough to completely stop porn because I obviously have an addiction, but will quitting it entirely even make any difference? Before this started at 29 (35 now), porn binges never had any affect on me whatsoever. I never felt bad after O and it wasn't even something I ever even thought about. Everything in my life sorta went on the back burner after 29 and the majority of my weeks revolve around anticipating these symptoms now. Its really awful.

Thanks fellas! Looking forward to reading your stories.
