Registration questions are terrible

mxh:
Those questions are the most terrible thing I have ever seen in that regard. E.g. "what is b/f" - oookaay... Someone is having fun playing around. Only by googling and coming back to this site did I finally find the answer. But then it changed to "who is the admin" - not likely to be number 1 knowledge if one isn't even registered yet, now is it? Also rather narcissistic. By the way I only found the answer to that absurd "b/f" game question because there are so many complaints here already... And what is it trying to achieve, exactly? It certainly pointlessly annoys people, which I suppose is circularly seens as some arcane purpose (as many admins have such a twisted psychology and effectively like to "troll"with their power).
And oh look, there are more captchas and the question again... This is pathological.
Anyway... Erm... Hi. (?!)

Quantum:
Hi mxh, and welcome to the forum.

Registration answers had to be not so obvious, because we had hundreds of unwanted registrations a week by spammers, and had to make it more difficult to register. We were infested with spammers, bots and fake members.   To give you an idea, we had 200 to 400 new "members" a week, which was obviously impossible for a rare condition like POIS.  At one point, this little forum, which has currently approx 650 members, had over 14 000 members ! ... a huge pruning had to be done.   It is maybe due to some word search that is done by bots... we do find words here like "orgasm" or "ejaculation" or "prostate"... that is maybe what attracts bots here.

Now, gone are the days when we come to the forum in the morning only to find 14 threads of foreign languages porn ads......

Sorry for the inconvenience, we understand that the registration process is a little harder, but it was really needed.

Thank you, Quantum, for explaining the situation in depth.

It took my 1 Week to reg back then(almost gave up), I would say we need a better solution to this PROBLEM, how about a link to the answers of the questions near by the question (about should not be able to finde them in another hyperlink) also a reminder of how backspace and uppercase needs to be used.

I understand why it is made difficult to sign in, but I also faced the same difficulties mxh faced when I tried to sign up. I got a lot of errors, before I finally succeeded. I think this procedure prevents some POIS'ers from joining the forum.
