POIS is ruining my life
« on: May 24, 2018, 02:30:33 PM »
Hi... a lot since I do not post, but I feel this is the only place people really understand what is like to live with somekind of POIS.
I was one of the first to post here back in 2007.

My personal life is being ruined by this disease. I get the POIS for 2 days after an ejaculation, after a wet dream, after dreaming of an ejaculation without actually having it, and lately, to turn things for the worse, after dozing. I cannot work, no social life, no sports, no enjoying life in those 2 days... I only want to do nothing and let them pass.

I do not understand why I am going through this since my early teens. Now I am 37 and haven't being able to build a life.

The relationship with my girlfriend  has been deeply affected by the side effects of POIS in any relation (almost no sex, all because I know I will have a day of shit afterwards). I do not know how much longer will she tolerate this condition.

My professional life is no better. I ended being a Uber driver, because I could not tolerate the rythm of stress of my carreer... journalism. And having POIS did not do any help in my development as a professional, having to miss out work very often due to the symptoms I suffer.

I'm really down today. Nothing has worked for me: immunotherapy injecting my own semen only gave me more days of POIS for free, naltrexone did not work, neither did Niacin. I am trapped in clonazepam, escitalopram and risperidona because some shrink told me 14 years ago that this was due to panic attacks. I am trying the psychological side now going to a hypnosis therapy, but I don't know... I still want to believe this is not in my mind, so I'm taking tomorrow thyroid exams.

All I want is to get on with my life, get over this nightmare. Only here I find people who understand the hell POIS is.
I'm sorry for this negative post, but I'm in the verge of collapse.

Hold on there brother,
we all are in this battle of evolution and we have no choice other than to fight or perish. For me I'm still young but I don't want to end up waisting my life with no friends or a gf. So I'm currently looking for many different methods to fight POIS and giving up is not a choice. I'm still one of the members here who still did not find any method to heal his POIS but I'm currently looking primerly to deal with the brain inflammation that is assosiated with POIS.
I'd advise you to seek professional help about your brain inflammation rather than POIS; because currently there are no doctors around the world that can confidently treat POIS, but there is a chance that they can find a remedy for the brain inflammation that you suffer from.
All in all we need to take action and we can expect ourselves to give up becuase it is simply not an option rather we should just keep trying and moving forward.

Hi Nas,

Thanks a lot for your words. It's been a difficult day, as it always is when I'm on POIS.

What is that about brain inflamation? I have not heard that before (I have not visited the site for a while).
Could you explain me a bit? I am also always looking for answers for this trouble.

Best,

JP

Jotape,

this is a long conversation and I don't have the skills to find out links of medical articles and posts in this forum lol, but in short, the theory is that POIS causes us somehow brain inflammation evident by the brain fog and cognitive symptoms we suffer from. This is a long ( Very fucking long! ) article about brain fog and its causes: https://www.selfhacked.com/blog/the-cause-of-brain-fog/

Here Nanna has been explaining how this brain fog occur according to a metabolic theory he figured out: http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2502.0
And he also concludes that cognitive and emotional symptoms are a result of inflammatory cytokines activity in the brain.
There are many posts in this forum about brain inflammation and most treatment methods used are usually anti-inflammatory/anti-oxidant. So in my opinion finding the suitable anti-inflammatory method of treatment would get us a long way, to at least get a grip back on our lives.

Here's a number of treatment methods compiled up by Quantum:  http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2338.msg19448#msg19448

Best of luck!

Hey brother

I used to also study journalism and due to POIS have been driving with UBER for a few months as its flexible around POIS.

Your POIS seems to last the same amount as me too. I've also recently seperated from my partner, but as bad as things seem you just got to dig deep and keep on going. This condition will get the best of you if you let it you just have to find what works (for me its iron + magnesium + honey ) and push on. Unfortunately there isnt much else you can do as you already know life when your not on POIS can be very enjoyable.

Best of luck in finding what helps you recover from POIS and hopefully you overcome the troubles ahead. Try not to think about it so much and just take things as they come. Its the only way ive been able to deal with it.

Hi Nas, thanks a lot for the info on brain inflammation. I will try to check it out and see if it makes sense with my POIS symptoms.

Hi Ali98, glad to see I'm not the only one who has chosen to be an independant UBER driver with flexible hours of work. That has been great for me since here in Chile you hardly get a lausy job as a journalist. In which city are you driving? I've been driving around Santiago de Chile for 2 years already and it has been a great experience.
Let's keep in touch for UBERadvices.

Thanks guys... today I'm in POIS too, but feeling a bit better mentally at least. Tomorrow I should be fine until my next episode.

Best,

JP

Hi Jotape

Yeah getting a job as a journalist seems to be hard all around the world, especially here where i live as alot of newspaper companies are closing down and going digital. So now most Journalism work here is freelance which is pretty hard

I drive Uber in Australia,Melbourne, money isnt too good but it is very flexible and little hassle when im on POIS so im sticking with it until something else comes along

Just a curious question how long do you go between POIS episodes, do you abstain from ejactulation all together? I usually last 1-2 months and feel great then i have a wet dream and everything resets again lol

Thanks
Ali

What do you guys think of IT or some blue worker jobs like electrician. I think this jobs require little creativity just applying knowledge.

Thats true, but also alot of it depends on your boss as ive had many labouring jobs in the past and the boss who is easy going can make life on POIS alot easier whereas a strict boss can make it hard for you to work

Ultimately having your own business and being self employed would probably be the best as you are your own boss and it gives you much more flexibility although that takes a while to get to

At the end of the day try out different jobs and hopefully you will find what works for you
