As i resarching antiinflamatry stuf a found this study. As i reading carifly this study and found that melatonin-aspesualy his precusor could be life safer for us.

Most of us hawe insomnia and sleaping problems in "pois, and out of pois" because we are "inflamed" and probbly disturb our glands and hormonal disbalance.
Most of us hawe hi cortizol, and this cortisol could be one of the reason of insomnia, but why we poisers hawe hi cortizol i truynig to figure out.

Quality of sleap. We are in magic cicle-we must sleap to get relefe and try( full deep sleap) to recover and we cant because of our ilnes-endles cicle.

For exemple my last 5 night in pois i sleap but sleaped all night in conscious condition , there is no deep sleap at all,  this slaping isnt healty for evan most healtiest people in the world, cose if this sleapnig(not sleaping ) can lead to meny healt isues if is prolonged.

I didnt knew that melatonin is produced ewan in testes.

Wery potent antiinflamatory in CNS and more- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3001216/

Melatonin inhibits the activity of nitric oxide synthase and dopamine release, potentiates the inhibitory effect of GABA in the central nervous system, modulates the serotonin receptors and potentiates the opioid analgesic.

Several groups have shown that melatonin reverses chronic and acute inflammation [37, 40]. Melatonin treatment also causes an important reduction of nitric oxide (NO) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, two compounds that are closely related to inflammation.

Melatonin has several additional anti-inflammatory effects, which are probably related to a direct interaction with specific binding sites located in lymphocytes and macrophages .
NO plays crucial roles in the brain such as neuromodulation, neurotransmission and synaptic plasticity, but is also involved in pathological processes including neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation.

I'm agree melatonin may be involved in Pois system. Simply because like other members i often don't sleep very well in Pois, especially first hours after orgasm.
Melatonin is present in human like 2 other serotonin family molecules (serotonin itself and thyrotropin releasing hormone).
Once again I don't know if it's linked to immun system and inflammatory reactions. Maybe, maybe not.

I tried to take 1 or 2 mg of melatonin (low dose) but I do'nt find it effective. A guy told he has improvment after some weeks but maybe his dose is higher.

A friend of my is a neurologist. When I told him I took melatonin to fall asleep he laughed. He said even if I took the whole box it wouldn’t help me to sleep.

POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

I was suspecting that Melatonin has an important role in the recovery process. I also tried to link it to high cortisol levels. It was just a hypothesis and I have nothing that proves any of this it and not much to back it up with. You can find my posts about cortisol and melatonin on the page below. Just look for the posts with the graphs:

http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2523.15

I have tested my cortisol level in blood. The lab “suspects” it to be too high: 0.5 micromole/L around 9:00 in the morning. I wasn’t even on POIS at that time. They wanted me to test it again over a while, but at 8:00 in the morning this time. When I have the new results, I will share them with you.

I have the new results: 0.3 micromole/L at 8:20. I wasn't on POIS at the time. According to the doctor this value is between the bounds.

I want to warn you for the side effects of Melatonin. I first thought it was a kind of vitamin with no side effects. I took 1 pill of 5 mg Melatonin for a few weeks. I have 3 side effects that is mentioned here: feeling cold, hives and a change of the bio ritme. I sleep 2 hours later than before and wake up 2 hours later. It takes me more than 1 hour to fall in sleep and I wake up a few times during the night and the early monring. When I have to get out of bed I am very tired and feeling cold the whole day.

Warnings:

Before taking melatonin, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Make sure your doctor knows if you have liver disease, are depressed, or have an autoimmune problem (such as arthritis or lupus). Also tell your doctor if you have seizures or other problems with your nervous system (2,7,12,20).

Side Effects:

Call your doctor right away if you have any of these side effects:

Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hand, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing, or rash
Unusual thoughts or behaviors (4,5,7)
Other Side Effects:

You may have the following side effects, but this medicine may also cause other side effects. Tell your doctor if you have side effects that you think are caused by this medicine.

Tiredness, change in sleep patterns (2,4,5,15,16,18)
Feeling cold (4,14)
Feeling very tired the next day (20)
Headache, confusion (4,5,17,18,19)

(These side effects are also in the package leaflet)

This Dutch article says that when you take more than 3 mg you will have Melantonin also during the morning and afternoon. In the artcicle above you can read that Melaronin brings the body temperature down.

I find melatonin to not be very effective for inducing sleep. I find it’s weak, but I don’t wish to experiment with higher than recommended doses.

10 years of major POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks associated with it.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business.
