Hello everyone just want to start off by saying i never thought there was a whole community of people who suffer from this, reading through the other posts and it amazes me how many people actually suffer from this and how little attention and research there is on this.

Well ive had a few failed relarionships because of this, strained relations with family and friends and of course have had to deal with not knowing what was wrong with my body until i found this.

Nothing ive tried has worked to releave the symptoms but taking swisse double strength maca does help get the testosterone raised and energy levels up so i recommend that for anyone who needs and extra boost of both sexual and physical energy after a night with the lady.

Also have taken centrum energy pills and some energy pills from india neither worked as good as the maca but the centrum defiantly helped boosted energy not much testosterone though

Thanks for reading and i hope we all find some long lasting cure or relief from this because it sucks having a massive change in behaviour every few weeks.

Hi Ali and welcome!

For the benefit of other members, about your success with maca, could you give a little more details:

- what are your usual symptoms in POIS
- what dose of maca, in mg, do you take , and at what time?   before ejaculation?  Just after or the day after?
- how much in percentage, would you evaluate your level of releif with maca, and for which symptoms?
-Are there symptoms not relieved by maca?

Thanks in advance!  The more data we have, the best it is!

Hi Quantum

Usual symptoms after i ejactulate either from wet dreams or sexual intercourse i get a massive change in behaviour, brain fog, unable to concentrate properly, mind isnt as sharp, muscles feel weak, apetite loss, motivation loss etc it pretty much just goes down hill for me after ejactulation

The best way i deal with pois is to avoid ejactulation all together but if a wet dream does occur i have multiple cold showers whiich does help me slightly and take a 1 a day swisse ultraboost high strength maca (sorry cant find how many g is in the pill) this post orgasm gets most symtpoms but i whoudnt say its a complete cure as there are still symptoms but defiantly a small improvement combined with the cold shower helps me alot

Im also reading others who take zinc, magnesium and vitamin b pills so ill be doing that soon

Over i believe maca and cold showers over 3 days releave 75% of symtpoms

Thanks

Thanks for the details, Ali!

Pretty much like you, I get so much emotional symptoms in POIS that it seems like a total personality change, in addition to extreme fatigue, hypotension, and the like.  Usually, members have more cognitive symptoms than emotional symptoms, so I am of a rare type of POIS, because I have no brain fog, no memory problem, no speech impairment, no concentration or problem solving difficulty while in POIS ( If I cannot concentrate, it is because of high anxiety or high frustration...hehe...rather than from an incapacity to focus mentally ).

Hopefully, I now take a stack of natural products and vitamins that I take before ejaculation, that I call my pre-pack, and it helps me prevent 80% to 100% of the symptoms.

Hi Ali,

For the details about what natural products and vitamins I sue, see http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2090.msg16604#msg16604

I have never consulted a MD about POIS.  I have POIS for over 40 years now, and I have found this forum only about 4 years ago, so, for most of my life, I thought I was the only one in the world with this weird health problem, and had no name for it. Then, after I had read on the forum, I quickly saw that it was almost useless to see a doctor, apart that it can rule out other conditions.  Doctors, even specialists, don't even know about the existence of POIS in the first place, and the very, very few that do know it exists have not much to offer in term of treatment.

If you want to see your doctor about POIS, please read the following thread before, in particular, the comments at the end of my post, in order to know what to expect from this appointment, and avoid unnecessary disappointment :   http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2392.msg20182#msg20182

I hope this will help.

Hi Ali,

I am glad my posts have helped you :)

I look forward to hear both from your visit to the doctor, and your comments or questions about the pre-pack I take.

Hi Quantam

Just letting you know i visited the doctor last week and he was caught off guard by the whole thing, i even guided him through googling what pois is lol. At first he said it might be psychological and was thinking to prescribe some anti depressants but then i let him know theres a whole forum for people with this issue. He then began to show more interest in the issue and looked genuinely concerned but was unsure of what he could do to help.

I didnt expect him to find a cure but just wanted his opinon on it, he said try see a sex theraphist or a osteolgist and that he would send a email out to his 15 work colleagues to see if they had any idea on the issue. He also said he will call me asap if they did, and i still havent heard back from him and dont expect to lol.

Hi Ali,

Thanks for your feedback about your visit to the doctor.  That is typical that they don't know about POIS, but at least, this doctor have showed some interest, and have sent a communication to 15 other doctors... so we have a few more doctors in the world, now, that I have heard at least once about POIS :)

Thanks for your implication.

I hope you will find some suggestions on the forum that will bring you some relief, because for now, mainstream medical science, as you have seen, have nothing to offer for us.
