Very strange
« on: February 21, 2018, 04:59:16 PM »
I tried to masturbate without porn after a long time for curiosity if I was capable and for monitoring the POIS in that case and I found a strange thing: the POIS without porn give me much brain fog but little anxiety and depression while porn give less brain fog but much more depression and anxiety, I can't say this for sure because I will need more tests but it's not the first time that I noted this.

I was thinking that was about the different levels of dopamine in the pre orgasmic phase but I'm not sure.

I never had an orgasm with a woman because the only two times I had sex I don't reached orgasm but I am curious if the POIS could have different levels of symptoms in that case, maybe the more brain fog with pornless masturbation could be attribuited to more imagining or such.

In my ignorance I noted that the symptoms that POIS give me resemble to the shortage of dopamin and serotonin neurotransmitters, I am more and more convinced that cognitive POIS is a withdrawal syndrome from opioid receptors released with orgasm, indeed if I have another orgasm the symptoms go away and return after twenty minutes like a withdrawal syndrome from an addictive drug.

Hello Unvers, have you monitored your breathing during and after the Orgasm (and compared this episode to others)? Have you noticed any difference at all?

How is your breathing when you are in POIS? This is another important question. Have you tried GABA? Maybe you would like to go over the forum and look for more info about it but I think it helps people with your specific symptoms. You should tell your doctor if you have considered it.

If POIS is related to the vagus nerve, you should take note of your feelings and your breathing. The withdrawal theory is interesting as well

I didn't pay much attention to breathing but was normal for what I noted, I have to study the theory of the vagus nerve.

Never tried GABA, thanks for the info.

I am using antidepressant fluoxetine for depression, pregabalin (maybe is this GABA?) for anxiety and niacine and ginko biloba for brain fog, I tend to experience anxiety and depression even when not in POIS but rarely brain fog, in POIS they are all worst, another problem is itchy eyes but I can tolerate it without medication I think.

Relevant links to similar phenomena across multiple communities. Sex and orgasm is where mind and body meet so I don't think it's crazy to think about what kind of orgasms we're having or how different types of sex or porn or our own psychology can affect them.

Uhtred Sound,

That is quite interesting! I believe that POIS may be caused (in some instances) by the overstimulation and excitement caused by porn (and other kinks).  I don't remember when I developed POIS so I can't be of any use unfortunately but is it possible that this is some sort of sexual burn-out.  The amount of dopamine and variety of women would have been unlike anything our ancestors would have ever come close to (unless they had a harem, but even then...) the strangest part is the BDSM women who have very similiar issues to what we have.

This is a really interesting link, uhtred sonof. It seems that a similar "drop" occurring after some extreme or peak experiences has also been studied before.

If you want to read more about this x-drop or sub-drop and relate about our experiences, you can read this research paper:

http://journalofpositivesexuality.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Black-and-Blues-Sub-Drop-Top-Drop-Event-Drop-and-Scene-Drop-Sprott-Randall.pdf

(I don't agree with the conclusions though, as a chemical/neurotransmitters release is actually happening - that's the reason that explains why niacin works for some of us).

Maybe the authors didn't realize it but according to that wiki it looks like the BSDM community is aware that B vitamins seem to help them.

Something there that I've never seen recommended in the POIS community is chocolate, and I'm looking forward to experimenting with it.

Saludos

10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

Doesn't explain pois from just having erection

thanks for the clarification.
I don't want to stunt up being repetitive with the same approach. My years with pois (22 years in total) have made me investigate alternative theories of how the nervous sontema works and its interaction in the sexual field, that this phenomenon would be triggered by ejaculation, pre-ejaculation and even cases of sexual thoughts. It is well known for the diverse millenary traditions of India, China and the Middle East; that thought produces action in our body and our system has volts of energy (measured by current science). Somehow the users of pois have overloaded our nervous system by depleting it, by various methods, whether watching porn, excessive orgasm or masturbation, say we could say that we have stripped wires, interacting with a source as powerful as semen se It would be overloading (let's say our nerve wiring goes into a short circuit) and our body at such a reaction would cause inflammation and reactive disaster at the brain chemical level. would return to normal when deflated ... for this reason it took several days to restore ourselves and remember that inflation is a response that our body produces to an INJURY. That is why in all my years of experience with pois I have been able to find an answer by strengthening my nervous system and I have had wonderful results with herbal therapy, consuming medicinal herbs, (then I will detail the infusions and herbs more
