Maybe it was not smart of me that I used Niacin for a few years. Even it did not help me much. Maybe 10% less symptoms, but in my case it could be placebo effect. But the 200 mg niacin gave me a big hot flush. Could it be that my hot flushes even out of POIS is caused by niacin? Could it be that niacin caused my sweating? I started sweating a lot 3 years ago.
POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

The doctor gave me Clonidine (a2 receptor agonist) against the hot flushes. Normally women in menopause get this medicine. I really hope that it will help against the hot flushes, the chills and the sweating. The only downside is that it brings the blood pressure down. And my BP is also not very high: 105/80. I have to monitor my BP every week.

In the search function of this forum I saw that others discussed Clonidine as a possible treatment for POIS. Like Niacin Clonidine widens the blood vessels.

Beta blockers and iboprufen helped against hot flushes. Cannabis also helped quite well. other supplements are black cohosh and vitex castus agnus. Vasodilators help due to the extra loss of heat but usually makes orthostatic intolerance worse in some patients.

All in all hot flushes are horrible .. when its 25 C outside it feels like 40 C to me.. with 15 C i already sweat my ass off. Best solution for me are NSAIDS, anti histamines and cold water swimming.

Eating carbs makes it much more worse.. ketogenic diet is much better.

As usual limp dick always helps

Maybe my blood pressure went down because the last few years I used Amitryptiline. That brings the BP down. Maybe that is the reason why I have cold feet and cold hands. And maybe my body started with hot flushes to control my body. The downside of clonidine is that it lowers BP and can cause cold feet and cold hands. But I have to try it because it ends hot flushes. And when the hot flushes stop I hope that my sleep will improve. I stopped with Amitryptiline. My doctor gave to me for itching. But it was better if I stayed away from that awfull medicine.

My hot flushes are not regular hot flushes. They are histamine flushes. Maybe caused by medicines, desens or cbd oil. There are a few medicines that destroy DAO in your gut. I took two them: cefuroxim and amitryptiline. I already tried a few anti histamine medines, but with no succes. Maybe I need something more heavy. When I shower i get red dots on my chest, back and arms. I do not know if food sensitivity is involved. Then Nalcrom might help. I ordered a blood test for DAO. I think histamine intolerance is the reason of my insomnia. It keeps you alert and awake.

A DAO blood test doesn't tell you anything. The histamine clearance rate for HNMT is much higher, even in the absence of DAO in your blood histamine will be metabolized very quickly. And serum DAO is not an indication of DAO levels throughout the body as in organs. Waste of money.

I just found out that the hot flushes appear when:
1. I am sitting in the bench for a long time. For example when watching tv. When the flush comes and I stand up or lean forward with my back not on the bench or a pillow the flush goes away.
2. When I am driving for more than 20 minutes. Even when it is not hot outside.
3. When I sleep. Normally I sleep on my side or belly. But maybe when in sleep I am laying on my back for a period.
4. After taking a hot shower. When I take a lukewarm shower I get less symptoms.
5. After sports. Or even when I walk for 30 minutes.

My DAO is 44. It has to be above 10. I do not thrust commercial labs. But it is right then my DAO is fine. I did not except it to be that high. But anyway I will continue restoring my gut but taking enzymes and amino acids. And I am eating more healthy, no sugar.

I am pretty sure that I have warmth urticaria. I read a review about a medicine and that guy has the same what I have. He was helped by anti histamine. So far 4 types of anti histamine did not help me. I think only prednison can help me. Next week I go to the immunologist.

My hot flushes started 5 years ago. First only for 1 or 2 days. 6 years ago I had my tonsils removed. This helped me a lot for POIS. I had less throat and nose problems. But I read that removing the tonsils makes the chance bigger to have an auto immune disease. Is there someone else who had his tonsils removed as an adult?

My hot flushes may be caused by Ankylosing spondylitis (bekhterev's disease).

Since my POIS like period I have lower back pain. A doctor said it is the Sacroiliac joint. I also have a bowing posture. My head and my back bows a bit down. First I want to wait for other blood results before asking my doctor to send me to an AS-doctor.

Now the connection with POIS. Could the SI joint pain caused my POIS? Or did I damaged the SI joint after having POIS because of masturbation? People with AS also have problems with sex and there are a few symptoms that are the same, like prostate infections and light sensitivity.

Fernando from Brazil said he thinks his POIs has to do with his spine problems.

There could be more kinds of POIs and more types of causes.

 Wikipedia:

Quote
(AS) is a type of arthritis in which there is long term inflammation of the joints of the spine.[2] Typically the joints where the spine joins the pelvis are also affected.[2] Occasionally other joints such as the shoulders or hips are involved.[2] Eye and bowel problems may also occur.[2] Back pain is a characteristic symptom of AS, and it often comes and goes.[2] Stiffness of the affected joints generally worsens over time.[\quote]
