i had the flue a few times in elementary school for about a week each time but idk if I had it for more than a week. I also used to get ear infections a lot as a kid, but I stopped having them after elementary.
Taking ginger tea, no wheat, fenugreek+green tea/garlic, saw palmetto, niacin, boswellia, huperzine, B complex and nutmeg. See my treatment summary post for more info: http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=81.msg3513#msg3513

If you're not sure about being a week or not it's OK, it probably wasn't.

So far, the results show 3 (including myself) have had chickenpox before POIS.

another one of my theories (that chickenpox has something to do with this, at least for me) might just get me thinking about how true it might be.

Because my symptoms in fact started a couple of months or so after being healed off o f Chickenpox, what I believe triggered a mutation that caused POIS is the stupid me being sexually all healthy and all, having orgasms while having Chickenpox. Crazy idea again but nothing can be ruled out until a research is done.

It would be interesting to see others vote and see if the majority had Chickenpox or a similar condition on the list. Too early to call anything but I can't wait!

Like you say, at this point nothing can be ruled out, but it is a very complex issue.

What about all the other people in the world that have had Chickenpox and don't have POIS?
Was your chickenpox JUST at the age of puberty? Maybe it was a coincidence that it started just with Chickenpox.

There are so many possibilities. There are interactions between POIS and other afflictions and even semi-dormant afflictions that awaken when POIS starts or when we are in POIS.

And there are even things that look like POIS but aren't. SIGH!

That's why we need professional research so badly. We've zeroed in to about 3 or 4 good areas, but at this point nobody can say anything is for sure.  :(
WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

It was in the middle to ending stages of puberty.

Somehow I don't think it was a coincidence that a few months after having Chickenpox it started to be like this, although it might be.

By doing more research... I actually found a correlation between Chickenpox and similar viruses such as Lyme disease developing Encephalitis which has the same symptoms as POIS give or take a few details.

but they are only side effects of the illness themselves so they can't usually happen after the person is immune (healed off the virus) but what if because of ejaculation at time of illness, the body used some of the virus contents in the semen and thus continued to rely on the virus to make future semens? while producing the virus inside to add to semen, the person with the condition suffers Encephalitis because of the shock received by suddenly having a virus inside the body and when the virus is produced in the right amount the Encephalitis stops shortly afterwards. This also explains the prolonged days of POIS in older individuals, maybe they make semen slower? Also when most POIS sufferers have back to back orgasms their symptoms get worse.
This is just a theory but to me it sounds very likely to be true or similar to what REALLY happens.
