I am a 33-year-old male

Around the age of 27/28, as a result of doing blood tests for non-related reasons, I discovered high prolactin and high progesterone levels. I repeated the tests earlier this year, and prolactin and progesterone were still elevated, which indicated that these weren't just momentary deviations.

I get POIS-like symptoms from water contact.

If I'm in the sun for a long time, exercising, or exposed to any heat contact I'll also get symptoms

I have high testosterone and normal prolactin levels. All sex hormones are in normal range. These were tested when I was healing / had just recently ejaculated.

My mom has Lupus and RA.

I had strep throat constantly as a child from ages 2-7. Was heavily on antibiotics in this timeframe

I’ve always felt a burning sensation in my urethra since my POIS symptoms started.
Quote
i forget to mention that white blood cell count on my semen is high , this clearly shows immune activity on semen , either due to infection or for autoimmune reasons bacterial culture was negative in 3 time i tested
Quote
when I control my POIS with HCG or prednisolone, the burning sensation either disappears or is greatly reduced.

Hello all, been seeing a functional medicine doctor since late October. Got these tests done to figure out what supplementation/herbals are needed to heal my body highly recommend taking this approach. Through only diet and small supplementation so far over the past month and a half, the improvement in symptoms is great. God bless

You can also find here Habibou's blood/urine tests results. They measured certain neurotransmitters both before and after the Orgasm.

https://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=508.msg6851#msg6851

January 2011

Blood :
-adrenaline           <0.50 nmol/l         < 1.00
-noradrenaline        8.53 nmol/l       < 4.00                              1443 ng/l      < 675
-dopamine            <0.50 nmol/l         <1.00

Unrina during 24h :

-adrenaline       0.02 umol/l           < 0.10
-noradrenaline   0.42 umol/l          < 0.50
-dopamine        1.34 umol/l           < 3.00

All the blood tests were done 2 hours after an O.
The red standards are the unusual ones !

January 2012 :
ONLY Urina test, morning 10 hours after an O:

DOPA                      91.50 ug/g  (160 - 240)
34DOPAC                       0.40 mg/g    (0.70 - 4.00)
HVA                          1.90 mg/g    (2.43 - 5.20)
NORADRENALIN          10.30 ug/g   (15.70 - 34.30)
MHPG                          1.50 mg/g  (1.38 - 4.15)
VMA                            1.60 mg/g  (2.10 - 3.85)
ADRENALIN                  0.98  ug/g  (1.27 - 6.10)
SEROTONIN                62.40  ug/l   (61.50 - 116.80)
5HIAA                        2.30    mg/g (2.03 - 4.26)
HVA5HIAA                  0.83            (1.25 - 2.56)

---------------------------------

Feel free to share your blood tests results here. It could be a good idea to organize them  - first the old ones, and then, the new ones!

These results are super interesting. I remember taking a serotonin test and the result was very low.

I believe this was not reported here yet. This POISer had his neurotransmitters tested. He had this made a day after an O. Most results were normal, however some showed altered levels. Particularly his epinephrine level was suboptimally high. GABA and glutamate were very low and out of range. While PEA, HVA, normetaneprine, Norepi/Epi ratio, VMA and serotonin were suboptimally low.

The same is also attached to the post.
The cause is probably a combination of autoimmunity and SASP leading to excessive oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation. Antioxidants, testosterone, NO and norepinephrine boosters, ERbeta, sigma-1, SIRT-1 and dopamine agonists, PDE4, PDE5 inhibitors and CD36 antagonists are effective.
