The results of these tests inform what he does today, addressing sexual pathologies in both men and women. “There are problems of orgasm,” Komisaruk explains. “There are syndromes of genital pathology–pain, anorgasmia, persistent genital arousal disorder, sexual repression coming off of anti-depressants, feeling sick for days coming off of orgasm—and nobody has the foggiest notion of what causes them and we are getting at that.” Today Komisaruk’s lab runs multiple sexual research studies on both women and men. He continues, with his team at Rutgers, to study cerebral responses to sexual stimulus and works with a range of specific sexual conditions to better understand their causes.
I just now came across this reference to POIS in an article about Dr. Komisaruk -- nice to have POIS mentioned in a 'mainstream' context, even if not mentioned explicitly by name!http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2014/05/how-orgasm-could-dull-pain/361470/
