BOTOX
« on: December 14, 2014, 12:48:45 AM »
Botox for dystonia and headache

Botulinum toxin may be injected in small doses for various neurologic conditions. Although it was first used for cosmetic purposes, we use it for the treatment of medical ailments. BOTOX ? may be injected in the forehead and neck for migraine headaches, near the eyes for blepharospasms (uncontrolled blinking of the eyes), torticollis (involuntary, painful turning of the neck muscles), hemifacial spasms, and spasticity.

Honestly can't imagine being injected with the stuff.  Even if it worked I probably couldn't do it.
My POIS managed with Diet (@ diet that 100% manages my pois)Believe my POIS stems from inflammation in the gut. O = neuro POIS from inflammation from the gut

supps: microdose zyrtec if needed for food sens. ibuprofen for infl. as needed. Melatonin as needed. Big Pinch Black cumin  seeds once daily

Hi Outsider,

So you have a non-POIS dystonia. If POIS can be a dystonia then I guess you would be a likely candidate for it. I hope you don't mind me saying. Perhaps it would be a good idea for your to sign up to the POIS study in New Jersey which is now taking place.

Going less crazy - I know what you mean! I looked up some of the youtube vids and it looks so ham fisted how they carry out the injections. I guess some people are desperate (including me sometimes). I heard the botox injections can cause you not to be able to swallow sometimes. Vegas nerve controls swallowing I believe.

I was thinking recently that POIS is the only spontaneous dystonia (if it is dystonia). Meaning it occurs under specific conditions which can be replicated. Perhaps there are other dystonia's like this but I have never heard of them. Perhaps if it is the only dystonia that can be triggered on demand it would have great value for the research of all dystonia's and perhaps that could initiate substantial research investment once proved by Dr K. Just a thought, a positive one (which have been escaping me general recently).

Hi guys, floppy

My dystonia began in 2012
firstable sweet, one finger, from the right leg
steps by steps, the others fingers,
and the fingers and my right arm
always the same side : right
and now my head, i have a fickin spasms, who start with the neck
For now, i can control the head spasms, who appear only at house
i can't imagine, this spasms, outside in train, the metro, or with some friends

When i  work and my breathe, like a relaxation, the dystonia 's symptoms slow down

this dystonia 's getting worse, slowly, but seriously
