Decreased kidney function?

Have you had your kidney function tested?
Do you know of any family members with chronic kidney disease?

"Sexual and gonadal dysfunction/infertility are quite common in patients with chronic kidney disease. Forty percent of male and 55% of female dialysis patients do not achieve orgasm. The pathophysiology of gonadal dysfunction is multifactorial. It is usually a combination of psychological, physiological, and other comorbid factors. Erectile dysfunction in males is mainly due to arterial factors, venous leakage, psychological factors, neurogenic factors, endocrine factors, and drugs. Sexual dysfunction in females is mainly due to hormonal factors and manifests mainly as menstrual irregularities, amenorrhea, lack of vaginal lubrication, and failure to conceive. Treatment of gonadal dysfunction in chronic kidney disease is multipronged and an exact understanding of underlying pathology is essential in proper management of these patients."

I went to see a traditional Chinese doctor last week. I have seen a few over the years but never gone for a lengthy treatment. They all said a similar things in that they said my kidney function was low and needed to be boosted. Symptoms of low kidney functions is stiffness in muscles, particularly the lower back and low sperm count among other things. I do have all of these symptoms.

Hi,
I just found this poll. I have decreased kidney function - and it seems to have gotten worse over the last years. I am going to see a specialist soon. G-man, did you start this poll because your kidney function is reduced as well?
Used to have brain fog, flue-like symptoms, un-refreshing sleep, extreme exhaustion, muscle and joint pain, digestive problems, social anxiety, urge to urinate frequently.
Used niacin in the past. Now using nanna1's maintenance stack. Exhaustion and brain fog now main problem. 3-day POIS cycle

I can confirm that years back I used to have a lot of kidney issues. I never understood why I had pain. The pain was only going away when staying calm & occasionally lying on my back for a few minutes at a time. Until mid-2010 the pain became unbearable and had kidney stones removed on both sides. The operation was hell. Gradually the pain started coming back after a year or so but then often started drinking loads of water to ease things as was getting afraid to end up with another operation. Since I am on my new diet (starch-free) I seem to no longer get pain in kidneys.

I will see if I can find my Glomerular Filtration Rate between my papers (if I ever had this done!!!)

My test results for GFR place me in the slightly reduced kidney function category, however I spoke with a doctor and he said my results are normal. I started this poll because I was wondering if cloudy urine has any relation to POIS. The best explanation I could come up with at the time was that the cloudy substance was coming from the lymph and going into the kidneys and then the urine. Not sure if that's the case or if the cloudy substance is something like puss being picked up from the urinary tract after the urine leaves the bladder

I have low kidney function and had been prescribed spironalactone, but my GP took me off it since my 2 major surgeries in 2015.
10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business
