Goji berry/Wolfberry
« on: June 06, 2011, 11:30:21 AM »
I have order Goji berrys for tomorrow because i have read on the NSF about the potential amazing properties of this berry. The woman on the herbs store suggested me to buy the original berrys from the Tibet. I will update on the effects the Goji berrys the next time i have an O. Any comment would be apreciated.

yes, I posted it since I know someone who reduced his symptoms dramatically  (-95%) and feel even better than before out of POIS. I am testing it too, cause it worked for many unknown cases with autoimmune strange disorder. The matter is the price, but with the benefit, i wouldn't hesitate at all.

Yes, she is right, the Tibet wolfberry is the most efficient according to people who tried.

I advise you to take 20/25 g a day, in the morning 15 minutes before the breakfast. So your 500 g amount is eaten in 20/25 days.
The best is the dry wolfberry, whereas the juice looses some benefits.

Tell me how you feel after 15 days and we could compare since we start about the same time ! Good luck  :)

I have the Goji berrys now, but it´s an 250 g amount. I have been feeling the last 2/3 days with one of the worst POIS episodes since i began to take garlic or fenugreek. The reason? I had a Nocturnal Emision. As i have said fenugreek is not as useful when your POIS symptoms are stronger(or maybe you have to take too much), but it continues to work. This feeling reminded me what i used to feel in the past and to recognize the clear difference of TAKING/NOT TAKING fenugreek before the O.  This afternoon i was feeling with medium brain fog. Then, i ate a fruit, went to shop and bought the Goji Berrys. I wanted to know the effect. Well, now i can tell you. I take 3 or 4 berrys(Of course, this is less than your suggestion Habibou) and my brain fog dissipated . I don´t know if we are talking about some strong placebo effect, but time will tell. Currently 4 or 5 hours later i feel very well maybe with a little cognitive symptoms, but nothing disturbing. I will update on the next days.

Also, perhaps the fenugreek didn't work as well with the NE because ideally, you need to take fenugreek 1 or 2 hrs just before.

Intersting to see how the berries go. You are still taking fenugreek too then, right?

Great it seemed to work for you ! The best would be to see after a real willing O to test the real effects...
i will restart it on Thursday, but anyways it seems like my brain is foggy 24h/24 so i would need a good AD in the same time.

Yes, of course. I usually take fenugreek when i am going to have an O. (1-2 hours before with full stomach - good diet) and then i take 2 capsules the first day, 1 capsule the second... and POIS is gone. I had the NE at the morning, 4 days ago and with an empty stomach and this has been one of the most disturbing POIS episodes in this months.

Today i didn´t sleep so good and the POIS made a serious comeback in the dinner(chinese food). I was feeling like yesterday, or worse, and decided to increase the amount of wolfberrys(maybe 10-12). They worked very well. My conclusion until now is that they work better than fenugreek, for longer periods of time. I will update how i feel tomorrow, but it has been 5 hours since i take the wolfberrys, i ate a sweet dessert and i feel really good. I think that Habibou suggestion of wolfberry amount is the correct to maintain a good  mind condition during the day.

Speaking of Chinese dinner!

Depending on if it's home-made or bought out, Chinese food often has lots of MSG or similar. Even if it's home-made, most soyas and other salses have a lot of it too.

MSG (which is in  a high percent of packaged sauces and foods) is very bad for POIS symptoms.

It may be disguised with more technical names. MSG is mono-sodioglutamate. But is also part of other flavour enhancers and chemical preservatives.

Once I bean looking up the derivitives on labels, I had a difficult time finding any canned orpoackaged food-product that didn't have it.

Among exagerated POIS symptoms, it makes my ears and brain "pulse" and the hearing intensity rise and fall at similar frequencies. ( 1 to 5 cycles per second).

Wow, thank you Daveman for your information. Since i discovered that i have POIS i became an observer of the foods or habits that worsened my brain fog/POIS symptoms, and i think you´re right on this one. I recall some times in the past this has happened to me when i have eaten in chinese restaurants.

ESPECIALLY Chinses Restaruants. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Chinese food, in all forms. But I can't eat it.

I'll eat it home made, and carefully, very carefully selecting the ingredients.

Keep it fresh and hand make all sauces. You have to buy soy sauce, but check the label, and understand what all the ingredients really are. Look them up on internet.

Fortunately, ginseng and other spices are fine, just the sauces.

This are the goji berries i have bought: http://www.alliumherbal.biz/bayas-goji-100natural
(100% natural is a spanish brand, the only that sells goji berries from Tibet). I was advised by the woman on the herbs store to not buy the berrys from other places if i wanted to feel the positive effects that this berry has.
Today my POIS is gone and i have found certain relief. I´m going to abstain from O. until the next week because i need to enjoy this state after some bad POIS days. You will be updated on any possitive effect of this goji berries.
