Does looking/staring at hot women cause you symptoms ?
« on: August 07, 2014, 04:38:26 AM »
Please answer this poll guys, it will be helpful (at least for me). I am not sure but everytime i stare at some hot, good-looking women, i feel somewhat bad afterwards and i mean POIS bad. I don't know it might be in my head, but those bad symptoms really appear, and really affect me. So that's why i ask you guys, to share with me your experiences so that i can find out if my head is creating this or not. NOTE that i only refer to hot women and not any other women like old ladies etc. but women that turn you on.

So, so far i had 1 YES and 4 NO's which suggest that it's me causing this to myself. But how can this happen ? How can i cause symptoms to my own self just by looking at sexy women ? Maybe POIS symptoms is not caused only by orgasm and i think many others might have the same opinion and each one of them their own examples to support it. Still i am not sure, if there really is a problem at just looking hot women dressed or naked or it's just me who's getting anxious because of fear of symptoms. That's why i need more votes to see if my fear is maybe causing it. C'mon guys don't scorn me, i need your help and your own experiences on this one. Please vote.
Thanks.

Hi Chris18,

I have answered the poll, and was going to before, but wasn't sure I'd vote a Y or N.

However, having lived with POIS for 40 years (had since teens), I do know that when I was younger, it would have been a definite yes to your poll.

Even now, although an "O" is what really brings on my symptoms, there is - I also wholeheartedly believe - some neurological activity at play that influences us emotionally, physically and psychologically in a way that screws up what should be, with obvious boundaries, a pleasurable experience with our life partner or our good selves, whether we have an "O" or not as you describe.

Obviously, over 40 years, I have literally tried everything, and  found nothing that helps any better than avoidance of what younger guys certainly can't avoid.

Hang on in there, be gentle on yourself, we're all hopeful of what the research WILL be a positive springboard for. :-) Sometimes, what we focus on grows as a problem, in my experience, so do try not to focus on something that you are NOT causing.

I answered YES. but getting aroused visually Symptoms are different from ejaculation symptoms for me. the first ones are usually lighter and last for short time(a few minutes to one hour).
POIS is my worst enemy

I'm a no, but some of us are affected just by thinking about sex, others have to actually ejaculate. I'm one of the latter.

Sometimes, we just use the "withdrawl method" to jump start the morning. As long as I don't orgasm, I'm OK.

WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

Same goes for me but even those quick, light symptoms are very annoying. Just think that when i'm out on the streets or surfing on the internet i continually see a lot of sexy women, which means a lot of short bursts of symptoms making me feel more awful apart from the real destructiveness of symptoms due to an orgasm. Yeap with POIS, problems never seem to getting solved while new ones emerge one after the other. Hope something changes drastically in the coming months..Gotta stay strong!

Hi chris
i  m in the same situation sometimes
But the symptoms don't stay so much longer than ejaculation

I think it s a problem about hormones
testosteron, catecholamines or others who ll be involved

I only get symptoms when I orgasm. Doesn't matter whether it's by masturbation or sex or wet dream or whatever.

I can binge for hours and feel great, I can have sex without orgasm and feel great, I can have an erection for hours and feel great.

But as soon as I ejaculate, hell begins.

Wow, didn't realize the number would be this high. I don't notice anything different looking at attractive women besides social anxiety. I feel anxious quite often, so maybe it's a continuous symptom?
Turmeric and Rosemary 30-45 minutes before orgasm for anti-inflammatory and immune support has helped me a lot. Faster and easier than niacin approach.

Do you have any idea why this happened at your 33's and not earlier ?
In which age POIS started to occur for you ? Most of us since entering puberty..

My pois started at 14 years
and became worse at 33,
why the pois become stronger near 30 years ?
That's good question, for many of us
I think in my case, there s a link with my sexual activity, more intense,  in my 33 years
but some signs began at 31 years.

I mean, my pois evolved, my symptoms too

Real women, no, Porn, yes, in some cases.

If i let arousal go higher than having just an erection, i may have symptoms.
