How my pois started
« on: July 30, 2014, 12:59:00 PM »
Hello everyone i want to share how my pois started and im sure my pois is common with my story.

I have now 1 year POIS problem it was so hard for me to understand what was going on with me i did so many tests STI tests i thought firstly that i had HIV or something very important i did nearly all STI tests
and all tests shows that i dont have virus. last year 2 important things entered my life firstly a new medicine ( temazepam ) other name restoril its a benzodiazepine medicine its a sleep medicine. second thing which entered my life is my ex wife i was married the same year. im thinking that my pois is started from one of this 2 things.

1. Temazepam(restoril)

Its nearly 1 year that i use temazepam everyday 10 mg before sleep this medicine gave me also erection problems but it was not so important for me i didnt care at all i was awere that my new medicine gave me erection problem but i said i will take care later after 3 months of using this medicine i found a girl and i married her she was also my first girl i didnt had sex before she told me that my sperm was burning her belly ( between her belly button to her vagina )she told me it became red and it was itching again i didnt care at all in total after 6 months i started to get brain fog after orgasm it was strainge feeling but i didnt care again i got so many problems in life such things i just ignore later my problem became so serious that after orgasm i could do nothing for 3 days in total after 7-8 months by coincidence i found that i have pois before 1 year ago i could come to orgasm in 1 day 8-9 times and i had nothing now i ask my self why i get pois after using this medicine? maybe temazepam gives me pois?

2 My ex wife ( she had candida problem )

My wive had always problem in her vagina she said that it was burning inside she went to doctor and doctor told her that she had yeast overgrowth i am thinking she passed candida to me and thats why i get pois because candida gives alergic reaction to people but as i mentioned before she told that her belly part was burning after the sperm touched that area but that times we was using condom.

So which one gived me pois? im sure 2 of this things gave me pois but which one?

My lymph nodles are in pain nearly everyday white tongue and i have urethritis

Welcome Porthos,

That's an interesting story. I guess you can only theorise at this stage what causes your POIS. Medical research is currently being done to find out whether POIS is a type of Vagus Nerve Dystonia. My sense is that a portion of POISers would fall into that category but we will only know when we get the results.

To me it sounds like you have allergic/autoimmune type system's. Perhaps you may want to try and get a subcutaneous semen skin prick test. Some POISers have tested positive to this.

In regards to both of your points; I haven't heard anyone thinking they got POIS those ways. But who knows it could well be possible.

Temazepam can be addictive. So you may want to bare this in mind for the long term. Did you start taking Temazepam for POIS and does it help? Dr Dexter (author of a POIS paper) tried to get me to try Temazepam for POIS but I declined.

By the way, if you have not read through the POIS medical papers then you can obtain them from the forum administrators (Daveman or Demografx).

After reading your post I think it is quite clear that your POIS was really caused by Temazepam (Restoril) as you had once thought.
Recently it was found that as a secondary effect Temazepam is also likely an agonist of estrogen receptor alpha (ERa). Maybe it can induce some irreversible changes that make ERa perpetually overactivated.

Temazepam   ERa   ?9.8

It may be possible that your ex-wife had actually developed candidiasis due to your "bad" semen at the time. Then reciprocally this would have abrogated your own condition. It is true though that studies mostly indicate a high estrogen level to be protective against fungal infections, but this interaction may be still involved in a complex manner.

Some side effects of Temazepam also resemble POIS problems.
It may be also interesting to note that Theophylline and Aminophylline antagonized some effects of Temazepam. Both of these are considered nonselective phosphodiesterase inhibitors and nonselective adenosine receptor antagonists.  Especially the former one is also really implicated in POIS as several people had success with either PDE4 or PDE5 inhibitors.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temazepam

As for a reference so far I also had success with testosterone boosters, L-Tryptophan, some PDE4 inhibitors (e.g. drotaverine) and estrogen receptor beta agonists that oppose ERa-mediated effects.
The cause is probably the senescence of sexual organs and resultant inducible SASP, which also acts as a kind of non-diabetic metabolic syndrome.

Wow it was 2014 :) we are 2022 and i solved my pois and i also know why i get pois :)  Im an allergic person like my nose is leaking everytime because of allergy... and when i have pois problems once a year my allergy symptoms gets double. NO anti histamine medicines doesnt cure my pois i tried many of them.. The issue is actually very easy and clear when ever my urinary tract system gets irritated even VERY small irritation is enough to get pois.... Like how?? ok i gonna tell you like a woman that has bad vaginal health candida... im allergic to candida and my body doesnt accept it when i get this after a sex with woman that has bad vaginal health I SUFFER from pois for 4 months..... slowly it gets cured i gonna tell you how to make that process faster. Second any chemical my dick doesnt accepts parfume.. shampoo. douchegel even condom my body hates it ohhh the lubricants MORE worse then shampoo....oh by the way the chloor tables which you put inside jacuzi or swimming people i get pois of it i accidentally overdosed my jacuzi with it and i got pois it toke 4 months of my life to be pois free again....

in short stay away from ANY CHEMICALS including condom or lubricants.... if i take care like a sensetive baby i dont get POIS.. You have to think like only thing that can touch your dick is WATER nothing else and its your own risk if the woman you have sex with has healthy or bad vaginal health this can put you in POIS jail. :)

SO what makes the process faster to cure? 1 wonder medicine that helps and thats: Phenazopyridine
when your urinary tract system gets irritated by any chemical it looks like your body attacks his self.... so you need to calm down what phenazopyridine does: calming down your whole urinary tract system its not antibiotic its like painkiller meant for your urinary tract system it turns your urine to RED :)
Last time when my urinary tract got irritated by the lubricant of my GF i got extremly POIS symtoms even i dont have orgasm or sex my pois stays with me 24/7 for 3 weeks long ITS A HELLL this medicine calms down and 0% pois symptoms.

I suffer from pois over 9-10 years and i learned the language of my body WHY i get pois??? why after 6 months i get cured and starts again??? and whats the real medicine?
yes i also tried niacine with flush it deleted 25% of my pois but not all only thing that really works for me is Phenazopyridine

Good luck guys

Absence or presence of anything else than water contact with my genitals has never changed my POIS symptoms for worse or better

Mastrubating also damages your genitals you or your partner does it for you, try to avoid that. Because i notice that when i mastrubate i get irritation aswell there because hands are not soft.

As I understand it, everything he described is not Pois, but an adverse drug reaction that exactly coincides with the symptoms of Pois.
however, I think this remedy should be further studied, because if it causes almost the same symptoms as Poison, it probably has a chemical formula or way of acting similar to some substance that is causing our Poison.

As I saw some interest in Phenazopyridine (Pyridium) I thought to share some information that could be important. Due to its effect on burning pain I also considered this earlier as a drug that could be potentially useful in my case. Regardless it is rather likely that its short-term effects are due to its anti-nociceptive action, however if it really has a long-term benefit then that is most probably the result of elevated autophagy. Phenazopyridine could have some serious adverse effects though, so it may be not the safest choice for this purpose. As autophagy induction should be clearly beneficial for POIS some other options deserve mentioning. Autophagy inducers: spermidine, bitter melon, resveratrol, gamma-Tocotrienol, cannabidiol, Ampelopsin (Dihydromyricetin), Oleuropein Aglycone (extra virgin olive oil), astaxanthin, melatonin, curcumin, ambroxol, empagliflozin, mild hypothermia, calorie restriction, Sirt-1 inducers generally, inhibitors of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway generally, etc.

Phenazopyridine is used to relieve the pain, burning, and discomfort caused by infection or irritation of the urinary tract. It is not an antibiotic and will not cure the infection itself.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/phenazopyridine-oral-route/side-effects/drg-20065473?p=1

Dose-inhibition curves showed that three of these kinases interacted with phenazopyridine with sub-micromolar binding affinities: cyclin-G-associated kinase, and the two phosphatidylinositol kinases PI4KB and PIP4K2C, the latter being known for participating in pain induction. In conclusion, our study demonstrates for the first time that phenazopyridine is a kinase inhibitor, impacting notably phosphatidylinositol kinases involved in nociception.
The AKT pathway promotes cell survival, growth, and migration. It also inhibits autophagy. Although Phosphatidyl-Inositol Kinases (PIK) are the major AKT activators, other kinases, including calcium/calmodulin-dependent Kinases (CAMK), activate AKT directly.
Phenazopyridine Induces an Autophagic Response Without Cell Death, Similarly to PIP4K2C Inhibitors. Autophagy is a process characterized by the appearance of vacuoles (autophagosomes), leading to self-digestion of cellular components, notably in response to stress or xenobiotics/drugs. PIK/AKT pathway inhibition has been reported to increase cell autophagy. More specifically, PIP4K2C has been described as a down-regulator of autophagy. Interestingly, among all the kinases inhibited by phenazopyridine, PIP4K2C inhibition has been shown to harbour analgesic effects. Indeed, regarding nociceptive sensitization, it is known that drugs that block signalling linked to MAPK reduce pain in animal models.
We report an autophagy response induced by phenazopyridine, a mechanism removing unnecessary or dysfunctional components in autophagosomes. In addition to autophagy, neural differentiation of stem cells is favored by phenazopyridine. It is noteworthy that inducers of autophagy are receiving attention for addressing neurodegenerative diseases via removal of abnormal/toxic protein aggregates.

Phenazopyridine toxicity may occur with acute overdose or chronic administration of therapeutic doses. Severe toxicity with phenazopyridine is relatively uncommon, but when it does occur it may present as a serious clinical picture, with adverse drug reactions (ADRs) such as methemoglobinemia, hemolytic anemia, acute renal failure, and hepatitis.
https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/875512251302900305

Animal studies have shown that large doses of phenazopyridine can cause liver damage with central necrosis as well as toxic degeneration of renal collecting tubules. In animal models, excessive doses of phenazopyridine often initially result in gastrointestinal distress accompanied by altered mental status followed by methemoglobinemia, jaundice, acute renal failure, and hemolytic anemia.
