Onset of Symptoms
« on: December 25, 2013, 08:29:47 PM »
I am just curious, when does the onset of symptoms begin for most people and what are your first symptoms?  I would like to compile as many responses as possible to compare to my own?

Symptoms start to grow slowly in the first 2 days.
After day 3 everything is hell. This lasts until day 8-9 when finally
POIS slowly vanishes.

Crazy, I hear for some, it hits them almost immediately. For me, I feel great after orgasm. By the third hour, I feel fatigued, demotivated and eyes are itchy. I also get nervous around other people. The physical problems last only 1 day and I am usually back to normal by day 2. It still sucks because I am in my 20's and have a very busy schedule. People think I am high or haven't gotten enough sleep when they see me :(

Well if your saying that your symptoms last only two days i think you are lucky compared to some others.
If i were you i wouldnt worry too much about POIS.With good diet and exercise i'm sure you have room to improve your
situation even more.

I suggest you orgasm at night just before going to bed in order to avoid most of symptoms.

The first few hours after O are ok, sometimes I even feel good for a little while. within 6 maybe 12 hours I notice the symptoms setting in. They get progressively worse until day four when they peek, and subside through day six and seven. Sometimes when it's really bad on the fourth or fifth day, I end up masturbating just to get a way from the pain and psychological symptoms for a little while.

I used to have a odd experience for an hour or two immediately after orgasm, that I felt great, energized, focused, motivated, knowing exactly what I wanted and needed to get done and exactly how to go about it. I don't experience that high anymore.
I have both physical and psychological symptoms for about 6 days. Muscle soreness, pain in the prostate and warmth in the pelvic area, fatigue, lack of motivation, irritability, confusion, inability to focus, forgetting obligations, difficulty communicating, difficulty interacting with others.

It starts around 30 mins after orgasm. It used to last around 0.5 day to 2 days when I started to masturbate. but over time, I developed chronic effects (I never fully recover) and POIS episodes last for dramatic periods.

I agree with chris. you are lucky. what you are suffering from is excactly what i had in the early beginning. plz be easy on orgasm and do it less it frequently so that they dont turn into chronic effects. I also recommend to get all your tasks done before you masturbate and to get enough sleep.
POIS is my worst enemy

For me the symptoms starts immediately and grow gradually ... And, despite it improves when I abstain, I never get off POIS....
