You make a really good point Daveman, and I think its important message to everyone. That we cant abuse the niacin now that we do have it. It can be like you said damaging on our liver. I actually had an interseting conversation with a pharmacologist on that topic. (: thanks for sharing that though... otherwise I would of just taken it :p haha. Its always good to be informed before making any decisions with your health

As i already mentioned in the forum nocturnal emissions dont cause me POIS symptoms but last week i had 2 nocturnal emissions in a row in a period of 2 days while sleeping because i havent been active for 23 days. The first NE as expected didnt cause me POIS symptoms but the second one cause me at least 70 % of symptoms that i get from an orgasm.I wonder if the amount of sperm that we ejaculate matters because this is what i get.Any comments on this one?

Hi,

Lately I?ve had to abstain because of exams. While I was abstaining, I ?ve suffered a couple of night emissions. I?ve experienced something very curious: one of this night emissions happened while I was having a very vivid dream to the point I even reached orgasm and felt pleasure. This gaved me POIS. The other night emission just happened, without dreaming and experimenting no orgasm/pleasure. This didn?t gave me any POIS. Strange? All this made me think in Fenugreek. People who have tried it say that the pleasure of orgasms was less and that thanks to fenugreek, their symptoms were less intense and lasted less. Now, I think I?m convinced there  is a positive correlation between the intensity of the orgasm and the severity and duration of a POIS episode. Any ideas?
Thanks for listening to me?

For me the higher is the intensity of the O, the lower are the POIS symptoms  :-\

And I am the exact opposite. A lot of ejaculate means it has been many days/weeks since O, and symptoms are just bad.  When I have a little ejaculate, it means its been only a few days, and i am probably in a pois state already.  it almost hurts in my lower testicles coming out, and definitely not pleasurable.  When this happens, I am in a severe pois state for at least a week with extreme extreme fog, and my mind feels disconnected from my body, and my thoughts and interactions with people feels dream like.

There seems to be alot of mixed experiences people report of having/not having POIS after a NE.

I am currently on Day 55 of no PMO and had my first wet dream on Day 47. The symptoms from my NE were less than normal orgasm, however, I still had strong POIS. It took me 5 days to recover.

Does Niacin really help prevent POIS? I read the reviews of people and there seems to be no consensus. Everyone provides differing views?

@Prancer. I have heard a lot of people saying that as you get more wet dreams, you recover quicker. How long does it take you to recover from wet dreams?

ANd really as you get more wet dreams, you always take the same amount of days to recover from symptoms?

Takes me about 3 days minimum if I get a restful sleep each night. I don't get wet dreams often, but yes, the amount of days is roughly the same. More orgasms (wet dream or not) unfortunately do not speed up my recovery time. And if they are too close together my symptoms will be worse.

NEs don't follow any kind of rhythm for me. One time I didn't masturbate for 30 days, and never once had a NE. One other time I masturbated, and had a NE the very next night. I think it depends on a number of factors: the erotic content of your dreams, your need for release (physical or psychological) , and the strength of your kegel muscle! I had my first ever wet dream when I was 19, and it was after a couple of days of kegel exercises, which I had never done before.

And yes, NEs cause POIS symptoms with me too. But I usually masturbate too frequently for them to happen. Because in a way, I feel extra shitty when I've had a NE because I have POIS symptoms but didn't get to enjoy the orgasm!!  >:( So my current motto is, try to delay ejaculation for as long as possible... but if you really HAVE to, at least make masturbation into an enjoyable event... draw it out, watch some good porn, etc. So at least it's kinda worth it! Nothing is worse than just throwing an ejaculation down the toilet out of frustration. Believe me I've been there!  :-[

Affected since Sept 2008. Very gradual onset of symptoms: Testicular atrophy, low libido, brain fog, lethargy, depression, digestion issues. Worsening of all symptoms the 3-4 days post orgasm.

I think my experience with NE's is different than some people's. For me, my symptoms end up being equal to or worse than otherwise. I personally don't think the disease has anything to do with ejaculation either. I've had two NE's without ejaculation or even erection (because I attempted to avoid them by sleeping with a scarf tied around my legs (we do crazy things don't we)) and still experienced full symptoms. Since my cycle is almost always exactly 5 1/2 days of full symptoms (with sudden recovery over 5-6 hours on day 6) they're a real struggle. I don't masturbate anymore at all and am not sexually active, but at my age, 17, NE's are frequent and come every 2-3 weeks, which makes life absolutely miserable.

If I never had to go to sleep again, I would be so happy.
Symptoms last 6-7 days. Onset of muscle weakness after 30 seconds. Symptoms include: brain fog, fatigue, depression, pale skin/dark circles under eyes,  digestive problems, difficulty taking a full breath, irritability. NONE of these are present out of POIS.

I have had only 3 NE in my life, but all of them has been my best orgasms of all. And no symptoms afterwards. I wish i could have them more.

i got them usually after 2-3 weeks of abstinence. sometimes i have those precum-only ne, which cause only light POIS. on a full NE i also have full POIS, which can be frustrating.

but sometimes i can control sexual thoughts in my dreams due to lucid dreaming. for me it is way more difficult to resist in dreams, but not impossible at all. i think this can be trained, like the normal willpower to abstain from sex.

Unexpected emission relief
« Reply #32 on: July 20, 2021, 01:20:02 PM »
Hello everyone. A quick question: If I happen to have an unexpected emission (wet dream), will the vitamin b3 (niacin) flush still alleviate the symptoms when taken after ejaculating? From what I read this is the most universal substance to get relief from the terrible effects. Any other methods of easing this burden would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
