Low-T?
« on: August 27, 2013, 07:41:16 PM »
This is my first post, I've been sitting on the side line since I started to have POIS symptoms about three months ago. I have to admit I don't totally beleive in the alergy theory, even though claritin seems to help a little bit. My POIS doesn't seem to match the symtoms that most report here.
It all started one day my wife and I had sex twice within a few hours, within a hour I was dizzy, headache, and nauseated. I really thought I had the flu and it was only going to last the night, but it lasted for days.  The following weeks I started to notice the pattern of POIS and I found this site.

After reading some of the trial and errors, I decided to start with some of the easy stuff and added Niasin and Ollive leaf to my morning vitimin, and a claritin. I do have mild summer alergies so I figured the Anti-H wouldn't be a waste of time. The first couple of weeks it seemed to help out a lot. POIS was about half of what I got without the suppliments, and sometimes none at all, but eventually it got worse. Maybe there was somewhat of a placebo effect or just wishful thinking.

Here is where my symptoms don't match what others are saying... my symptoms don't start until noon the day following an O.  So If we have sex or M at night, I feel fine until about 10-11am the next morning, and then POIS kicks in. The first thing I notice is my lungs seem like I inhaled some chemical, then the fog, headache, and I also get heartburn or acid reflux and I'm eating tums all day long.  It lasts for about 2-3 days, as long as no more O, and I'm back to normal.

I am 56 years old, 6' 5" and 315 #.  Obviously overweight or obese, and I read that Low-T can cause weight gain but I also read that weight gain can cause low-t. A couple years ago I was tested for low-t which came back at something like 285 when the normal scale is 300-1200. I had supplement shots for a while but I didn't notice any difference in the way I felt or weight loss, so I quit getting them. Now I'm thinking of going back and starting treatment again to see if they will help my POIS.

Has anyone had any results from low-t treatment?

Does anyone get the chemical lung I feel?

10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

Thanks, I thought this could be my problem. I have an appointment with the DR this week to talk about TRT.

Anyone feel the "chemical lung"?  Feels like I breathed in something.

Like something toxic enters the bloodstream seconds after.
WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!
