Exposure to dogs: The trigger?
« on: May 23, 2011, 11:48:21 AM »
Thishttp://abcnews.go.com/m/story?id=13593639 link was posted at the TNS forum. Here is a quote from "Dr. Jonathan Bernstein, a professor at the University of Cincinnati, who specializes in allergies and immunology":

Quote
Interestingly, some research suggests that women who have been exposed to dogs, then go on to have their first sexual encounter with a man, can develop this seminal allergy.

"In the prostate, protein-specific antigen is homogenous with dog DNA," said Bernstein. "You look at the structure of the dog's PSA and the human's and they are cross-reactive."

I am wondering if exposure to dogs might also be involved in developing POIS as well.  Did anyone here not have contact with a dog when they first developed POIS?

I was bit by a dog when I was 7 years old but my POIS symtpoms didn't start until I started masturbating at age 17.
Taking ginger tea, no wheat, fenugreek+green tea/garlic, saw palmetto, niacin, boswellia, huperzine, B complex and nutmeg. See my treatment summary post for more info: http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=81.msg3513#msg3513

Just very coincidentally, POIS could be more or less corelative to the beginning of my POIS. Also in my youth though, I was exposed in my early teens to poodles that my mother had. Around which I hadn't yet developed any POIS, until much (35 yrs) later.

Poodles ar not very alergenic though.

If dogs where a trigger, you;' expect to see much more POIS in the world. I wonder if the Dr. is speaking with "tongue in cheek"?
WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

Don't worry, it's not linked. Pois is an auto-allergy and that is the difference.
These women  have developped a specific allergy which is different to Pois. And this is different of cases of women allergic to their husband's semen too.

I think without thinking to "strange behaviours", there is a question of the contact with animals (when you take a cat on your knees).  Anyway, I think these behaviour are not extremely serious even if of course I'm not favorable. What about whale hunters or ivory traders... 100000 times more serious...

I never had contact with dogs. I don't like dogs and the don't like me.  ;D
So I don't think for me that is the trigger.

Before my first ejaculation I had years of allergy's and POIS-like symptoms. I had a lot of sinusitis. I went to a lot of doctors but they couldn't find anything.
POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.
