Exploring sleep
« on: February 27, 2013, 12:57:39 PM »
I noticed I almost never getting POIS Symtoms or recover from POIS during day time ; Symtoms shows up or disappears after a night of sleep ;

If I have sex in the morning, most of the time I'll be in POIS the day after ;

So my conclusion, is sleep might be involved in the process of getting symptomatic.

i never remember having difficult nights but some day  I wake up the same way than If I have had 3 days without sleep and 1 litter of J.daniels.

What about you ?

For me, if I O in the morning or in the afternoon, I have all the symptoms untill I go to sleep at night, then the day after the phisical symtoms desappears and I have only some cognitive symptoms and tiredness.
I have an O few hours before going to bed, then the day after I will get all the symptoms.

It was lie that before I started using niacin

Sleep only has a positive effect on my POIS recovery. My POIS symptoms (eye burning, joint pain, fatigue...) set in immediately after ejaculation to the point where I can barely walk after because it hurts my knees and I can't keep my eyes open. One time I tried going to a class at college right after an "o" with no rest and the pain in my back from sitting was so horrible that I'll probably remember that day forever. Now that I have some remedies it's not as bad, but still debilitating.

Taking ginger tea, no wheat, fenugreek+green tea/garlic, saw palmetto, niacin, boswellia, huperzine, B complex and nutmeg. See my treatment summary post for more info: http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=81.msg3513#msg3513

Apart from TRT, my best ally against POIS has been sleep -- either natural, or forced (with Benadryl, etc.).
10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business

"It used to be thought that sleep was by the brain, of the brain, for the brain," says Dr. Charles Czeisler, a Harvard Medical School researcher. "Now it's recognized that it plays an important role in bodily functions."
