I'm not going to put a graphic poll to this one, just the question. Help us to understand how best to connect to newcomers.

How did you find out about us?

Firstly I've found about POIS on the Wikipedia article about it (last year, 2010, in October, or so I think).
The rest is easy

. I then found the TNS forum.

I found out about the naked scientists forum from a google search for something related to "harmful effects of masturbation" or something along the lines dealing with masturbation. Or maybe it was a search for harmful effects of ejaculation. Something like that, but anyway it lead me to a forum where someone else had linked to the naked scientists forum.

I think google is definitely the best way to try and pull people in.

back when it was hard to find the forum i fround through a a supposed french website on pois, i dont remeber where that website was took me five months, i use prhases fatigue,concentration problems and thinking problems after orgasm or sex on google.

The mail list will be quite handy as we enter the research phase.

We’ll be using it to get the news out to everybody.

There are almost 500 names on that list now! Probably 50 post, and 150 read the forum. So the mailist will be good for getting important stuff to the rest!

As is standard with any organization, Mishlen, you can opt out of the list and choose to not receive any POIS newsletters and ads. (Your email, however, will never be used OUTSIDE POIS. It is held in strictest confidence).

But it is your decision if you wish to opt out. Just let us know if you want your email removed.

It was (and still is) a strange name.

And "The Naked Scientists" forum sounded like a prank -- no one at NORD had ever heard of it.

But you called, we spoke, and eventually everything seemed based in reality.

Still does.

The TNS forum has been around for years, poiscenter.com for ~ one year. I think that once the Indiegogo campaign gets launched (a BIG project to launch), poiscenter.com will receive a good deal of positive publicity.

I wrote on google after many trials : "exhaustion after orgasm" in french... and then found a forum talking about the name POIS.
I wrote then POIS on google and found the NSF. It was the 25th of October 2010. It changed my way to see myself from someone willingness and desperate for no reason, to someone fighting against everything and never believed while it was a real illness! My family got the same feeling towards me...

Searched in the past for some of the symptoms I have, but did not find anything too valuable at the time. It wasn't until around April 2011 when I discovered an article about POIS. I then searched for "POIS" and found the NSF. I'm so glad I found it!

Quite frankly, it's hard to remember now. I know that I had begun to understand that my symptoms were related to orgasm and had been googling them for the past year. I think I then came across a youtube video that called the condition POIS, and then googled that. And i think the forum was the first thing to pop up.

I saw the youtube video. I had persistently written off the effects I was suffering as something I was imagining or the result of stress. I'd mentioned it to some doctors and they thought I was mad. Seeing that video and discovering the NSF was a revelation for me.

I first discovered POIS, though my girlfriend who was watching Conan O'brian and he was discussing Dr. Waldinger's papers in his goofy news segment. Then I searched online finding the Naked Scientists Forum. I later discovered this one though Nick Cannone, FNP, who works with me on my desensitization treatment.
