Did you had health problems before you had POIS?
« on: March 23, 2019, 07:43:00 AM »
There are a lot of topics about POIS. But how was your health before POIS kicked in?

I did not had major, life treatning diseases. But I did not feel well. I had a lot of nose and throat problems. Most of that problems came when cam into puberty. I do not know it was my immune system or things I used. When I was 13 I started using a lot of hairproducts. Gel, wax and spray. Maybe that was the cause of my health issues. When I was 16 I experimented on smoking. I did not inhale, but soon I knew I got sick from it. So after a few weeks I stopped. When I became a student I started working in a restaurant. And after that going out with friends. That night and the next morning I felt sick. Issues with my nose and throat. I used antibiotics a few times for that, but it always came back. So my doctor sended me to a lung specialist. I did all kind of tests but they could not find anything. After stopping with hair products (I was using it for more than 10 years) my nose and throat got better. But short time after that POIS kicked in and my nose and throat would be in bad state again. It got better after desens and after removing my tonsils my nose and throat symptoms would get less worse.

Since I was a kid I am always sensitive for the cold. And to be honest I never was a guy who was very positive or laughed a lot. Maybe because since puberty I did not sleep a lot. In the morning I was a paperboy and after that I went to school. And I would secretly stay awake after midnight during school days even I had to wake up very early for bringing the newspapers. As a student I also had few sleep. I had fun during the day and at midnight I would study for the next day.

Also before POIS I had problems with my skin. Even after puberty I had acne and an oily forehead and nose.

I do not know if this topic will be helpfull. I do not know if telling how my health was before POiS will be helpfull. I just want to rule out common problems. If we all had a bad health before POIS then maybe the problem/defect was already there but it just manifested after an ejaculation. But if a lot of us had a good health then there might not be a connection.

POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

Some people are more likely to have inflammation, allergies, pain in general. Due to my height I started having back pains very early, around 16 years of age. I believe that the POIS is connected with some chronic process (in my case, back problems).
I always played soccer and did swimming. After the birth of my daughter I left the sports because I was tired, sleeping badly and came the problems of marriage too. My body became weak, my mind became sick and so my POIS came. Each had something like respiratory allergies, skin allergies, bowel problems. Maybe before POIS these problems were less intense because there was no chronic vicious cycle. For me it is clear the connection of my POIS with my problems in the thoracic and cervical spine. These days I only have 10 to 20% of the symptoms because I treat my spine every day with exercise. I have to dedicate 1 hour a day or more to maintain the health of my spine and in this way the symptoms are less intense. It also has the fact that the person who has chronic inflammation ends up by lowering the neurotransmitters of well being which ends up affecting in some way the brain chemistry.
My POIS only happens with masturbation. Normal sex does not generate POIS symptoms. My POIS is related to me mood and the health of my cervical spine. Dopamine/Inflammation/Body constitution (genetics) are factors that contribute to POIS.

Hi Vandemolen.

During my teens I experienced extremely painful skin rashes on my legs and random places, usually just in winter (zero to 12 degrees Celsius). My skin would be very dry but also flare up in specific spots like an allergy.

Later I found this to be sensitivity to particular nuts such as peanuts and hazelnuts and also other foods such as crustaceans (prawns, crabs, lobsters) and eggs.

More recently I do not have these reactions but I this might coincide with being very strict with my general diet. If I keep to gluten free and low-FODMAP, I am generally very healthy (when not in POIS mode). My guess is that if my digestive system is strong and healthy then I don't react to those foods.

I still hate the cold.

Food sensitivities and environmental sensitivities like car fumes. Also had an iron deficiency at one point. Food sensitivity played a dominant role.
