did i have pois?
« on: November 11, 2021, 09:53:51 PM »
i had symptoms of pois between march and september. after the orgasm I felt sick, with mental confusion, weakness in the body and fever, the symptoms appeared immediately after the orgasm and lasted for 2 days. but today that doesn't happen anymore, the symptoms disappeared by themselves, I can have free orgasms without symptoms. What could have caused these symptoms in the past? pois? I was really stressed at the time, could stress have been the cause?

Yes! Personally I belive that stress in combination with frequent orgasms messes with your gut health, whitch in turn inhibits the uptake of nutrients and building materials for hormones that are required for a normal "post-orgasm biochemistry" - the balance between inflammatory and non inflammatory hormones.

Even more interesting would be: How did you cure yourself again?  :)

I do not know. my stress lessened and I had back pain, I exercised to cure the pain. these were the changes in my life

Interesting. Mild exercise and stressmanagement are perhaps the two main activities to decrease cortisol levels. When cortisol go down, the other hormones have a chance to restore.

New to the forum, and while I have been dealing with this issue for quite some time now I have to admit that 1) I never knew it was even a condition I always assumed I just overtrained too hard and 2) I have not always had the symptoms each time after masturbation/sex; has anyone else's symptoms been sporadic like mine? Mind you, when it happens POIS fits the bill like no other and I have to wait for about a week to even try to train again.  I am absolutely thrilled that this forum exists and others are in fact discussing this (makes me feel far less frustrated with myself as I always get stuck after training to a certain point).

Welcome to the forum TechNoir! Yeah, I know the feeling of finding this place :). First I was pretty unsure of what caused my POIS, then I understood that unintentional orgasm (nocturnal emission) was giving me the worst symptoms (and fapping in my teens). Normal O was first ok, but during the years it also gave me POIS. Then I realized that POIS was much less during periods of no stress, for example vacations. This made me think that somehow our hormonal levels are quickly getting low under certain conditions. Why is that? Well after reading everyones personal experience of POIS on this forum I lean towards that POIS is caused by... drumroll... well thats too long to write here. Read my bio below. Enjoy the stay, ask for help, share your own experiences and do the polls. Here we are all friends.
