Alkaline water good or bad?

The last six years the water I've drunk has been from my fridges built in filter, but in the last year we got a new fridge and the water tastes metallically/chemically and weird sometimes. I'm also pretty sure that the water from the fridge is very acidic.

So I bought a new water filter (phox) that has an alkaline filter as I thought alkaline water is better for your health (seen people say it helps cancer). I've been drinking it for the first time today and it's given me a headache.

Now I realised I didn't really do my research and now I've found out that drinking alkaline water can lower stomach acid, increase microbes, negatively effect your body's absorption of electrolytes.

What do you guys think good or bad?
