Making myself sick
« on: December 14, 2014, 01:37:14 AM »
As I've stated in the past, my cognitive symptoms (essentially my POIS) totally disappear when my body is actually fighting something and I am actually sick.  Is there any way I can purposefully make myself sick but somehow control it?  This almost shows that my POIS is an auto-immune issue.  I am pretty sure this happened to some others as well with similar POIS's.  Other than going outside in the cold every night is there another way I can get sick?  I was thinking if I'm actually allergic to a food or anything but I'm not so I don't know how to distract my immune system.
My POIS managed with Diet (@ diet that 100% manages my pois)Believe my POIS stems from inflammation in the gut. O = neuro POIS from inflammation from the gut

supps: microdose zyrtec if needed for food sens. ibuprofen for infl. as needed. Melatonin as needed. Big Pinch Black cumin  seeds once daily

OMG guys, potential remedy lol (almost not kidding).  Been doing some research.

http://scienceblogs.com/oscillator/2010/05/25/allergies-hookworms-and-geneti/

"In that episode we learn about a man with terrible allergies and asthma who gave himself a hookworm infection that basically cured him.  By distracting his immune system with a harmless levels of an intestinal parasite, he was able to go outside again without having a life-threatening allergic reaction"

Although this is for peanut allergy, would the results be the same?

I had the exact same experience in 2020 February after getting neck ache, mucus and compulsive cough from being outside with low amount of neck cover clothing and for the time I was sick I had 2 orgasms and 1 nocturnal emission with zero cognitive symptoms-the mind, perception, speed, reflexes, reaction, comprehension, mind clarity were like the same as when I would abstain for 2-3 weeks when having POIS except this time I hadn't abstained at all and I felt perfectly okay and literally after I healed and orgasmed again the full POIS symptoms came back in an instant so I suspect POIS is in some way immune related maybe it's simply a direct form of some autoimmune disorder that some chemicals released during sexual activities are similar to something else so the immunity doesn't like that and attack them.

I wonder how many other POISers have had this experience I think it mostly happens with the cold type of sicknesses for example I don't recall stomach bug type viruses having ever had an impacton POIS although I haven't had one for long time so even if it did back then I didn't know I have POIS and didn't really focus or understand on my level of brainfog and cognitive functioning so I probably didn't notice that in the past.

I wonder if it's possible to emulate this state while still keeping immunity engaged in optimal functioning against all the body threats because if you make some of the immune cells focus on something else while it leaves less of them for the autoimmunity reactions.

The question is towards what exactly those autoimmune reactions occur to if that could be found out then all that would be needed were some research which would determine how to rewire the immunity to not attack those specific things.

Me too: if I have a cold and ejaculate, I don't get POIS (conclusion based on a small sample of observations).

What mechanism could be involved in this and how could we replicate that without getting sick and with none negative side effects if possible?

Moderate exercise (e.g. a long walk, possibly uphill, just no running) is one way to try to "distract" the body. It's unfortunate that more intense exercise doesn't seem to work. I am now experimenting with weights to see if that helps.

Look at this thread as well, for connections with cortisol or exposure to cold temperatures (which would "act like a sickness" in your terms):
