Monolaurin
« on: June 27, 2015, 01:11:56 AM »
Hey guys, I've been taking this stuff the past 3 weeks and started off with 3 a day and now I do one every other day.  Beneficial affects from this is it eliminates my brain fog and my eyes look absolutely clear instead of that dead POIS look.  It also has positive effects on the negative POIS feelings.  I don't want to over exaggerate any findings since its only been 3 weeks but so far this stuff is making me feel pretty good.  Still in the semi-testing phase though and still trying to figure out the best dosage and times to take it.  Its a couple of bucks so it wouldn't hurt to try.  I have the ecological formulas 300mg kind.  Again, still in the testing phase but so far the results are positive.
My POIS managed with Diet (@ diet that 100% manages my pois)Believe my POIS stems from inflammation in the gut. O = neuro POIS from inflammation from the gut

supps: microdose zyrtec if needed for food sens. ibuprofen for infl. as needed. Melatonin as needed. Big Pinch Black cumin  seeds once daily

Thank you so much GoingLessCrazy for sharing those good results with us. I don't think there's any over excitement at all, esp. since it's been helping for 3 weeks, so no worries. Keep us posted once you find out the best way to take it. :]

Thanks Prancer.  Just a little update.  Right now I only take monolaurin on day 1 of my POIS, about 1500mg... symptoms most improved.  In fact I tried not taking the OLE and benadryl and feel ok.  It is still too early to tell but I've also began a 100% gluten-free diet so that may be contributing and I have bought cat's claw today to help with inflammation and also some sore joints that I have experienced.  Its supposed to be an immune system booster and help with fatigue and other things.  Right now it's almost like I don't notice POIS contributing to the bad feeling, it is more of a health-thing.  I don't want to over excite or exaggerate anything but long story short I'm doing good on this protocol of monolaurin 1500mg on day 1.  I think I will try the OLE and benadryl just in case but I don't believe I need it.  Like right now I can "O" without taking things and feel fine, but I still take the monolaurin on day 1 for viral/bacterial possible causes just in case and I'm not positive I really need it.  Again no over excitement I just feel good on what I am taking and in time I will update on future findings.

By the way did this site get updated?  It's frustrating to post now, I don't think my computer loads the site correctly.

Wiki says monolaurin is found in coconut oil.
Taking ginger tea, no wheat, fenugreek+green tea/garlic, saw palmetto, niacin, boswellia, huperzine, B complex and nutmeg. See my treatment summary post for more info: http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=81.msg3513#msg3513

Wild idea: Maybe Oil Pulling (for teeth health) is not about cleaning the gums with the oil, but about bringing monolaurin into the bloodstream for treatment of Herpesviridae?

l-lysine and monolaurin capsules are claimed to be as effective as prescription antivirals by many natural health websites.  They can be tried safely unlike acyclovir which needs a doctor prescription and  also, requires monitoring in case of renal problems.

EDIT: Although then it would not work with Sesame oil?

EDIT2: Coconut oil better than sesame oil

I'm on a 100% gluten-free diet too, in addition to POIS, I have a problem with acne all over my body so it may be that gluten is doing me a lot of harm.
