My doc did the pupil test on me, and I repeated it at home, and both showed no adrenal problems. The white lines on my belly disappear immediately. But I do have blood pressure in the low range.
Did your pupil maintain its contraction? Mine keeps fluctuating maybe that's why I hate lights so much, my eyes just can't deal with it.
The line for me stayed and turned red then disappeared. I'm yet to try the blood pressure test.

Yes, my pupils remain contracted.

Do you also have difficulty looking people straight in the eyes? Or just issues with light?
Male, INTJ. POIS symptoms: red eyes, ear-pain, anxiety, speech problems, pale/ugly skin, stiff neck, double chin, tinnitus, light sensitivity. POIS even after stimulation without O.

I mean, yeah, but that's mostly social anxiety.

...you definitely might have hypodgonadism [sic]

Let’s please be careful here about medical diagnosis on the Internet [= “definitely”]

But what is the root cause of hypogonadism in poisers?

I was diagnosed with hypogonadism 10 years ago, treated with TRT, which helped my POIS. Significantly.

But I’m STILL confused about the relationship between hypogonadism and POIS. Our POIS forum at the time focused on hormonal issues, so I sought out an endocrinologist. For POIS.

I think those could be connected. On days when I don't have light sensitivity, I also have less trouble looking people in the eyes.

I think 500mg taurine at night helped me with this (but could be my imagination).

Pregnelone steal means that the adrenals are not producing sufficient of protective hormones (DHEA, aldosterone) because all resources are used to make cortisol. Thats like letting a teenager be home alone for a weekend - parents gone holliday!

May I ask, please: what does this have to do with POIS? Thank you.

Pois and vegan diet is a bad combination.  Also vegan diet lowers testosterone , messes with your thyroid and decrease absorption of minerals. Its pretty obvious that alkaloids and phytic acids in soy, corn etc lower the absorption of all minerals significantly.

To recover from the damage caused by pois and adrenal fatigue you need higher amounts of animal protein in your diet.

What im saying is that you should fix diet instead of jumping to meds for adrenal problems

That's strange Guts since a few other people on this forum including myself have had the opposite experience to your recommended diet. Maybe it varies per person.

When the body becomes inflamed during POIS the adrenals secrets a lot of cortisol to combat the inflammation, so cortisol is our friend. But everytime healthy adrenals secrete cortisol (catabolic hormone) they are also secreting anabolic hormones like DHEA and aldosterone to balance the catabolic effects of cortisol (to keep it under control). So what could happen when it goes wrong? Two things: 1. Because of the cortisol steel, anabolic hormones are running low and we got symptomes of cortisol excess (like excess seebum, acne). 2. This is probably worse: Cortisol storage in the adrenals are too low due to long term inflammation, so there are not enought of cortisol to keep inflammation down. Those two side effects can happen at the same person during diffrent time of the POIS period.

So what can we do about that? Eat more building blocks to cortisol (cholesterol rich foods, eggs), focus of recover the adrenals with relaxation and nutrition and keep the POIS inflammation as low as possible with anti-inflammatory substances like garlic, omega 3, fenugreek, Nanna1's stack (even ibuprofen though I dont like drugs). Probably the gut and intestines need to be healed since long term inflammation has decrease their effectiviness to absorb nutrients. med Increase oxytocin, hug someone, pat a pet!
