Very frequent NE
« on: May 07, 2018, 08:41:24 AM »
Hi forum,

I'm currently facing a big problem. Since I had a breakup in October last year I'm having constant NE.  The frequency of NE can go down to every third day, which makes me struggle real hard in my daily life. I noticed that the day before NE I tend to be really happy, so the high dopamine level is one source.

My suspicion is that it's caused by the subconscious mind which formed a manifestation of the NE caused by the traumatic event of the break up. My first NE for a long time and with a high rate of abstinence happend in the same time period. Before that time NE was an issue maybe once every half a year of something, but I had a masturbation habit of every forth day.

Do you think this is possible? What other reasons might there be? Any ideas to help me are appreciated.

I tried the following medication:
- Niacin: weird headache in no POIS phase =>  made my mood go down => Less NE, but almost persistent every 10 days
- Taurine: doesn't seem the help me in any ways, could have even made it worse, because of the muscle relaxation
- Cortisol: helps to fight inflammation, but brain fog, social anxiety persist
2 day POIS - 6 month experimental phase on fully managing POIS started in June 2019

Hi Jacob,

There is a thread about NE avoidance, at http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2151.msg17197#msg17197 .   Read all the thread, you may find there some useful information for you.

For POIS relief methods, there are many safe methods to try.   Many can be found here in my POIS Types Chart

Personally, I take my pre-pack as soon as I am aware I had a NE, and even if taken afterward, it blocks most of the POIS symptoms, sometime up to 100% .  My pack composition can be found in this post :   http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2090.msg16604#msg16604

You mention of being more happy the day before a NE makes me thing of a possible explanation. You would rather stay more "zen", in a calmer state, throughout your day, and avoid being "excited".  This may have an effect on your brain chemistry, and even if positive, too much intensity in joy creates a stress, as much as too much sadness or worries, and then your body and mind have to expel the tension excess, through a NE.

I hope something in this post will help.

You are probably relatively young.  We get less NE as we get older.  Like Demo says, it may be one of the (few) benefits of aging :)

Hi Quantum,

thanks for the answer.

I'm currently working my way through all the methods, but there are just so many different possibilities. I already tried some sort of composition of your prepack. In that case the prepack made my symptoms worse. Especially the brain fog symptom and duration from one to almost three days was increased. In the future I will try it again with another composition, the last one was: Niacin, Quercetin, Peppered curcumin, Omega 3, Green tee extract.  My diet is already adjusted to be healthy.

That is already my goal, just to be as happy in the current moment, not particularly excited. I do a lot to be relaxed and not anxious: 25 minutes of meditation, 5 min affirmation and journaling before going too bed.

I just feel like this is not caused by my life style and daily activity. As you wrote you have NE after 5 to 8 weeks and here I am with 3 days. The day before I don't have a lot of libido and feel mostly relaxed. I don't even have wet dreams, it just happens.

Of course your opinion is appreciated :)

I'm now 22 years old, so I guess I'm rather young.

Hi Jacob,

If you really want to build your own, custom, pre-pack, I suggest you add the elements one at a time, to test for tolerance.   It is a rather slow process, but it helps in knowing what supplements are causing you side effects, and which one are well tolerated and help the alleviate POIS symptoms.
If you know that supplement A is well tolerated, then next time you try A+B.  If good, next time, you try A+B+C, and so on.

To give you an idea, it took me about 6 months to get to a pre-pack formula that reaches 90% relief.  But early in my testing phase, after a few weeks, I already had some 50% on average, which is already significant.
