Wet dreams! Please help
« on: October 04, 2016, 11:18:29 AM »
Hi all, new to the forum.
So I've suffered from POIS for almost a decade. Went misdiagnosed for most of that. And now I'm on the journey of trying to figure out what can alleviate my symptoms or cure me.
I seem to be one of the rarer cases where my symptoms tend to last 2-3 weeks, and they're pretty severe. Which is horrible as you can imagine trying to live like that. If I abstain from orgasm long enough I slowly start to return to myself and I start feeling incredible. I can't even describe how good it feels to not feel completely plagued. But anyway, my issue is with nocturnal emissions or "Wet dreams". I'm fine with abstaining from orgasm for now, I'd like to focus on my work. But NE's are what get in the way. I can't seem to control them and eventually the sexual tension will build up and my body will release while I'm asleep. Does anyone know of any methods to prevent NE's from happening? It's devastating when it's been weeks of suffering and I finally start to feel like I'm making progress into safe territory, only to have an NE and be thrown all the way back into my horrible symptoms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Neutral, and welcome to poiscenter.

You could take a look a this thread, where different solution have been discussed:  http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2151.msg17197#msg17197

The main problem, in your case, is the very long duration of your symptoms.  I wish you to find some way to shorten your POIS attacks and make your symptoms less severe, that would help you manage the whole thing.  Keep on slowly and safely experiment with things that I have been helpful for other members.  For example, take a look at http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=2338.msg19448#msg19448 to see what have been helping other POIS sufferers. You will also see in tis chart some mentions of what can worsen POIS symptoms.  This may be useful to know as well, maybe one fo those bad triggers is affecting you.   For example, eating sugars/carbohydrate or absorbing it through sweet drinks like soda is a worsening factor for many POISers.

You are 100% responsible for what you do with anything I post on this forum and of any consequence it could have for you.  Forum rule: ""Do not use POISCenter as a substitute for, or to give, medical advice" Read the remaining part at http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=1.msg10259#msg10259
