Results of POIS Survey
« on: April 08, 2017, 10:49:24 AM »
Dear all,

I haven't posted on this forum in a while, but after having heard the sad news about the end of the Rutgers study, I wish to contribute my share to keeping the research efforts going. There has been some discussion regarding whether we could get some results from Rutgers. I cannot help with that, but I can share with you (part of) the large POIS survey which we had conducted at the beginning of the Rutgers study.

You can download a zip archive with the survey results from https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-sO82_q5JBLZGNIUXdxeFYxems
In order to download the archive, you need to click on the arrow in the top-right corner which appears after you clicked on the link.

The archive contains the following files:

POIS_Survey_Forum.csv : Survey results in csv format
POIS_Survey_Forum.xlsx : Survey results in Excel format
POISCodebook.pdf : Explanation of the variables in the files above
POIS Survey - All pages.pdf : PDF printout of the web form which we had used to collect the data

Several notes are in order:

1. The survey asked for a user name (from poiscenter, Reddit, or other)
I do not include the user name here, such that results remain anonymous.

2. The survey asked for an optional email address
To assure you: I do not, and will not in the future, include any email addresses.

3. The survey contained a number of free-form fields, e.g. descriptions of symptoms, additional comments etc.
I do not include these free-form responses, as the participants filled in these fields under the assumption that answers would not be shared publicly.

The included data are useful in order to check for e.g. clustering of symptoms. However, the free-form responses provide additional insights which would be beneficial to publish on the forum as well. To that purpose, I am going to send emails to those users who provided their email address and ask them whether they allow making their free-form survey responses available to the forum. Those users should please check their spam folders for an email form survey@poiscenter.com

Used to have brain fog, flue-like symptoms, un-refreshing sleep, extreme exhaustion, muscle and joint pain, digestive problems, social anxiety, urge to urinate frequently.
Used niacin in the past. Now using nanna1's maintenance stack. Exhaustion and brain fog now main problem. 3-day POIS cycle

Thanks, BluesBrother!
