Some thoughts on them however:
I think cortisteroids are locally applied usually aren't they? For instance in joints particularly. Therefore they may help the local areas but leave other effected areas weak.
This is a problem with NSAIDs and antihistamines too. An NSAID may relieve certain of the symptoms temporarily 2 to 4 hrs, but leave the others untouched, making it feelas though they don't work.
The rush of energy recovering might be from the sensation of relief. A normal state IS more energetic than the POIS state. So like "springtime" it feels great, until the normality of it becomes "regular" again.
