Questions for Dr. Waldinger
« on: May 14, 2011, 08:52:16 AM »
This is a place to discuss and prepare questions for Dr. Waldinger.

As you can all imagine, he is a very busy man. So the idea here is that we write any questions that we have here, and pre-process them to reduce duplications or reduce the content to things that we don't already know.

So fire away here. Once we've got several questions organized, we can see about how we get the question to him.

Thanks.

Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

That's a great idea !  :)

Is there more studies on POIS currently, about the component of semen we probably are allergic to ?
Do they think about others therapies to cure? (intra lymphatic, sublingual, and so on...)

Along the same lines as Habibou.  Sublingual seems to be more standard as an allergy treatment in the EU than in the U.S., is the dilution normally the same to start out with as subcutaneous?  Recommended frequency for sublingual?

Good questions CC, We'll put them on the list with the rest.

Some thoughts on them however:
I think cortisteroids are locally applied usually aren't they? For instance in joints particularly. Therefore they may help the local areas but leave other effected areas weak.
This is a problem with NSAIDs and antihistamines too. An NSAID may relieve certain of the symptoms temporarily 2 to 4 hrs, but leave the others untouched, making it feelas though they don't work.

The rush of energy recovering might be from the sensation of relief. A normal state IS more energetic than the POIS state. So like "springtime" it feels great, until the normality of it becomes "regular" again.

Can't imagine a response to the last.

am not sure yet because when i get the rush of energy i definately have an NE so i really never got to see whether that is normal me or rush of energy.
But this rush of energy is better than being on caffine.
you can injest corticosteroids or through injections, they are also used for  organ transplants to prevent immune system from rejecting organs.
may be if we can try some of the other methods used for preventing organ transplants, we can help pois in a way.

I seem to recall that he had tables of values like IgE and IgG etc. Before and after?? that I'm not sure of.

Says they were prescreened... not sure if it was just vebal screening or not?

It's actually been a while since I read the papers.
