I've often tried to imagine what it would be like to have had POIS since the very beginning! It would sort of be similar to a person who has been blind since the beginning. Obviously I don't wish that it had been so with me, but a real and full knowledge can only come with direct experience.
I felt compassion for those that had depressive effects, because I normally had only physical ones, but until I began to actually have one or two more serious depressive bouts, I didn't understand at all. And I feel it's the same with this aspect, not really knowing what it's like for you all that have had it since forever.
It's why our cure is so important, and why I will work on this now until there;s a cure for all.
In talking about how it is for a normal person, the intention isn't to make anyone feel worse or be more depressed, rather it is to try to give hope and something to look forward to. I really believe that we are going to find a solution to this thing.
Willem's friend doesn't know how to describe how it feels to have normal sex. Not a criticism Willem, just a fact. It's more than just being normal. For youit would be like being able to really see for the first time. To be able to face sex with your partner without the shroud of immenent pain ad fear. To tenderly caress her without the black veil hanging between you, and to go of to work the next day feeling like Atilla the Hun, maybe doing a better job than you otherwise might have.
You become a sane and healthy person, strong and free.
Please, this is our goal and a possible one. Let's not focus on the half empty glass. It's half full, and what's more, there's a buxom maiden over there that's on her way to top 'er up.
For all of you, YOU are not the problem. Please remember, the real you is under there, and we're gonna get him out........
