male contraceptive prevents sperm in ejac
« on: December 06, 2013, 11:13:52 PM »
so new male contraceptive drugs being worked on are targeting specific receptors to prevent sperm from being released during ejaculation

http://io9.com/a-male-birth-control-pill-that-causes-a-temporary-vase-1477320599

the med paper here:

http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2013/11/27/1318624110

Somewhere in our research I would look at what capabilities we have to target receptors in the brain or nervous system to prevent specific components from being released during the orgasm. How many components (endorphins (and other bio chems), semen (all the bio ingredients of), sperm) are released during orgasm? Can components be seperated then each specifically targeted from being released until we find the one component that is causing the POIS reaction to occur?  Anyways I emailed the scientists who are doing this research and mentioned POIS and will see if they have anything interesting to say about it.

one of the researchers emailed me back, this is his response:

"I must admit that I am not very familiar with this condition but I would be interested to hear how treatment with medicines which affect ejaculation such as the SSRIs go. Some medications used to treat lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) (eg. tamsulosin ? Flomax) have similar side effects on ejaculation but with less central nervous system actions."

Hi Defsync,
This is very interesting. Thanks for sharing it. The question I would want an answer for is when will testing be done on humans??? Can you ask them?
In terms of SSRIs. I have taken a couple of types years ago. They inhibit ejaculation but certainly do not prevent POIS in my experience.

To All - BTW - I have problems viewing that page in Safari browser but it worked fine in Chrome.

I just read about Tamsulosin (flomax). It seems this could be useful in investigating the cause of POIS. The drug can induce a retrograde ejaculation.

I would like to try this drug to find out if sperm passing through the urethra triggers my POIS. I expect that the sperm will eventually go through the urethra when you go for a piss. However, I would expect that the longer the sperm is in the bladder the more likely it is to be destroyed and chemically broken down by substance such as ammonia. Also, as the sperm is diluted with your piss and passing at much greater speed the contact with the urethra would be greatly reduced.

I will ask my Doctor is there is any danger in inducing retrograde ejaculation. If it is OK to do I will give it a shot, so to speak.

Hi FloppyBanana!

I tried a "male contraceptive" medication 2.5 years ago - Silodosin. If you're interested in how things went for me, I posted some progress reports, which you can read at the link below:

Hi hurry,

Thanks I read all the info in that trail. However I am still not clear on what the outcome was for you. What is not a goer because the side effects were not much better than POIS symptoms?
Thanks FloppyB

When i still didn't know what POIS was, but i knew that ejaculating was not good for my well being i read about some monks in asia that  would stop their semen's way out by contracting their pelvic muscles in order to retain the energy.

I've never been able to do it. what
i did instead was holding my pelvic floor tightly with the hand seconds before and after the orgasm.
the result was great no POIS symptoms and a great lucidity. After that my pee was cloudy so i guessed that semen went there.

I discovered this some 8 years ago. And i was amazed i could do it 3 times in a row since i didn't experience any refractory period. No POIS. What i did get though was a a general sadness, not POIS-like, rather n-reason-to-live-Kurt-Kobain-like, for a couple of days and mild muscular pain.

But i was very happy to trade that with POIS.

Now..Well i try not to do it, or at least not over do it. Two main reasons: it's unnatural, it makes you fell weird and aggressive and i don't want to make much damage on my pelvic floor.

Now i use mainly if i accidentally have an orgasm and i cannot afford to have POIS that week... I have to press very tight otherwise if only a single drop of semen finds its way out it's POIS. Impossible or very hard to use it during sex.

At least I am 100% sure that ejaculating is the reason of POIS for me a ;Dnd not orgasm itself along with the cascade of chemicals released with it.

Again I'm not promoting it. But i think it's worth knowing.

ps im POISEIDON but I've lost my password...

Interesting info Poseidon.

The side effects of Silodosin were very bad for me - it's possible that they could have reduced over time.

The main problem for me was that Silodosin stopped working after about 3 weeks. A bit like a dam that is slowly filling with water - at first, the dam can hold the water, but if water level gets too high the dam cannot stop the water any more.

Silodosin works well if you have O'd recently, but if you haven't O'd for a long time it does not seem to be effective enough to prevent ejaculation.

Since Flomax is a different drug to Silodosin, the results could also be different. If you decide to try Flomax, it would be very interesting to find out the results.

Good luck FloppyBanana!

I wonder if a Pois sufferer after having a testicles surgery is helped by sperm production removing or by the accompanying treatment like testosterone.
