Changed my Niacin brand to Solgar

I saw a documentary about POIS, and noticed that one of the interviewees was using Solgar's Niacin. I got a bottle from iHerb, and I can confidently say that it works better than the Nature's Way.

It's a much potent, 250mg compared to the 100mg, but I've masturbated (without ejaculation) and felt almost 90-95% of symptoms gone. I am not 100% of course, but I feel kind of alive, in a sense.

Keep in mind, I never ejaculate. I masturbate for 20 minutes until I'm at the edge, and then I just stop (using Kegel methods).

Is the flush stronger with solgar ?

There is thing that comes back each end of autumn when the temperatures become colder.
Just after ejaculation, I feel cold. It is visible on my skin, on my hands And I have the feeling the blood circulation is different. It must  this vaso-constriction's effect.
It's like if ejaculation pumps out something like niacin and create a stress, a pression, and a form of immune reaction.

I would say yes, the flush is much stronger. But only because it's 2.5x the dosage of Nature's Way (100mg).

After a month of using this, I can safely say this has really changed it for me.

By taking a pill an hour before sex or masturbation (without ejaculation... this is key), I feel little to no effect of POIS. Perhaps there are some left over cognitive issues like social anxieties but nothing serious. 

However, after ejaculating (by accident) I would take another dosage, bringing the nightly dosage to 500mg, teetering towards the unsafe level of niacin.

I felt incredibly terrible for the morning after, but I quickly recovered towards the day.

For the sake of yourself, go try Solgar's brand if you are not confident in your brand of Niacin.

Suppertime, this is just my 2-cent but I think the fact that you do not ejaculate might alter the relevance of your results. It is the ejaculation, not the orgasm, that causes POIS (that is why I think the name PEIS would be more accurate). I had several successful, ejaculation-free Os, and never felt any bad symptoms afterwards.

If your masturbation or sex does not lead to an ejaculation, I believe you shouldn't need the niacin or anything else to avoid POIS. If you feel you need it regardless, then it is probably because you do ejaculate a tiny bit, or you emit semen the moment you go peeing. If your post-masturbation or post-intercourse pee is a bit thicker and it makes bubbles that won't pop as it hits the water, then you're probably emitting semen, mixed with your pee (and you are likely to feel the effects of POIS). That is, at least, my own experience. I call it "false ejaculation": no semen comes out (because I squizz my PC muscle) but I can tell it still has gone "too far" (I squizzed too late). In that case I will pee it as soon as I go to the restroom... Then I am mad because I messed up my O AND I know POIS is about to kick in!

I also had a question for everyone (sorry if this has already been answered somewhere else in the forums): is niacinamide as effective as niacin? And what about "flush-free" niacin? Anyone as tried them all to compare the effect?

Thank you for your advice on niacin. I haven't tried anything yet and I need to gather up courage because I know I might not find the right "cure" right away...!

From my own experience, masturbation even without ejaculation leads to POIS. It's not a full-blown significant POIS but it still kicks in, and still manages to undermine my mental integrity. Even having a boner can cause some POIS for me. Then again, it's a different case for everyone, some worse than others.

But I "accidentally" ejaculated earlier this week, I took Niacin and I was feeling 80% in the morning. I barely had any discomfort which I usually have.

Thank you for your answer, Supper. I didn't think you could get POIS symptoms without an ejaculation. I find interesting to read about the various results you achieve by taking the B3 before or after your Os. When you take it before, do you do the 6-hour fasting, then take the niacin, wait for the flush, and then only have your O? I saw you wrote "I take the niacin 1 hour before sex or masturbation". Is that the way you take it every time?

Why niacin?
POIS sufferer for over 3 decades. Has progressively gotten worse over the years and I became completely disabled around 2011. My case of POIS is very severe.
