Role of serotonine in Pois
« on: August 06, 2022, 03:48:27 AM »
I "feel" and I think serotonine plays a major role in Pois.

Serotonine levels follows a roller coaster schema in different areas (blood, semen, brain).

Some symptoms are caused by HIGH levels then other symptoms by LOW levels.
Somes symptoms start just after ejaculation whereas other symptoms came later.

Between intercouse : low serotonine profile ?

Dr Waldinger estimates 56% of Poisers suffer of premature ejaculation (PE) (compared to 20-30% in general population).
On another side meds used against PE are SSRI like paroxetine, by boosting serotonine level.

Orgasm : breaking the balance ?
During Orgasm,  lots of neutransmitters and hormones are released

Sperm is rich in serotonin, melatonin and thyrotropin releasing hormones It seems semen is rich enough to cause and anti-depressant effect to woman who doesn’t use condom.

After an orgasm, it is even easier for me, but after a few hours, the pois begins. Perhaps this suggests that dopamine is working, and then serotonin, or it's all about oxetocin. But I can say for sure, 1 tablet of an antidepressant increased my pois several times and it was not a side effect. it has been stored for 3 months now.
