Sexual preference in POIS
« on: December 01, 2021, 12:26:01 PM »
Hi,

A question. Does anyone here notice having issues with their sexual orientation when in POIS? I notice in myself that i start feeling like i could be bi instead of straight. This feeling goes away out of POIS.

I feel more insecure & anxious during this time too which may be related.

@prospero

About the bisexuality, i too notice that during POIS i lean more towards dating a girl (aka same sex) and be the leader/dominant one whereas in my ?normal? state i lean more towards dating a guy (thus opposite sex) & enjoy feeling more feminine. Its very weird.
Im a female so my progesterone naturally fluctates, but i notice during the 2 weeks that my progesterone rises i feel almost constant POIS with flu-like symptoms and fatigue. When my period starts and the 2 weeks before ovulation i feel pretty much normal with no flu symptoms and energy is pretty good most of the time.

Does anyone here know their progesterone levels? Are they high aswell?

Absolutely! I always had that but as I cured POIS it has disappeared, I feel straight after orgasm again.

Testosterone decreases sharply after ejaculation, and it takes 2 to 3 days to rise up again.  So I am not surprised that hormonal changes could affect how a person feels about their orientation.

I notice my sexual desire peaks at night of day and two after O.  Which is an issue.  Because a second O within the 3 days of an O hits very hard, and for up to 7 to 10 days.  10 days if it happens on day 2.  However I do not attribute this peak to testosterone.  I think it has to do with wanting to feel good.  I think it is related to inflammation caused lack of irrigation on the brain.  When I take Kyollic Aged Garlic I feel my brain relax and be happy and emotions stabilize quickly. Calm dawns!  What a feeling.  I think the better irrigation causes the brain to work properly in all aspects.  Like neurotransmitter balance, hormonal control, etc.    However I noticed that on days 1 to 3 after O one drop alone might be enough. There have been times that 2 drops on day 1 after O caused significant vasodilation.  Which  went away in 2 hours.  But it is very unpleasant.  Rapid heartbeat, have to lay down, etc.  So when I take  Kyolic Aged Garlic I start with one drop first, wait one hour, then see if I want to increase.  Also I carefully mind what day after O I am.    Since sensitivity to this supplement for me is largely increased on day 1 to 3.  I am still figuring this out.  But what was amazing was one day when I slowly increased to 10 drops I felt so well emotionally and mentally. But 2 drops can also cause the same effect in some days.   So I think we may suffer from lack of micro irrigation, possibly caused by immune activation.

There is a recent article that explains how people with CFS for example have an immune mediated lack of blood irrigation.  I think that is happening in POIS as well.

This is a very key article.  Please take some time to read it.  It could explain why so Niacin, Garlic, Arginine work for POIS and CFS, and why other immune response mediators also help both.

Simultaneous onset of CFS and POIS since Feb 1993. Married since 1989.

Helped by Immunocal (I explained how to take in previous posts).  Some relief on day one and day two.  It affects neurotransmitters.

Check this, I am not absolutely sure how but here I've collected methods I've tried.
Stress + IBS is main factor I think. Do yoga, cold showers and probiotics. Some psychiatric meds might also help.

A complementary process of masculinization is defeminization. It appears that defeminization is controlled by estrogen receptor beta in both sexes. Impairment of defeminization leads to a more pronounced female behavior even when masculinization is normal.

Given this it is easy to guess that 3beta-Adiol or a lack thereof may also have a role in defeminization. Thus ERbeta antagonism could be involved in the shift towards feminization and consequent behavioral changes.
The cause is probably the senescence of sexual organs and resultant inducible SASP, which also acts as a kind of non-diabetic metabolic syndrome.
