I would like to thank the admins here for all the detailed information on POIS.
I was feeling low and depressed for quite a while and my body pained a lot. This aggravated even more after an O.

I thought for sure it was POIS and consulted a doctor to rule out any other things.(Again thanks for detailed info)
I also had a feeling I am deficient in something. So I told my doc I have not been exposed to Sun and stuff. He wrote me tests for B12 and D and TFT total(T3,T4,etc)

Turns out I was severely deficient in B12 and D. All the levels had hit rock bottom. I was in severe misery. I am on supplements now and feel much better. Get your levels tested once to rule out any other deficiency and stuff.

Hope all of you stay well. Thank you.

Great to hear!

May I ask what your diet was before?
Do you think you did not get enough B12 from the diet?

I'm asking because some people think we have malabsorption of nutrients..

Even I actually am very puzzled to hear that I have my B12 levels very low. It was just 68.
Should see a gastroenterologist if the tablet course does not do any good, cause then it would mean some absorption issues.

Doc has put me on a tablet(Rejunex CD3) for a course of one month. I mean I ate eggs and chicken but not so regularly(occasional)

I guess the college hostel I lived in for 1 year 2019-2020 had bad food(not nutritious) and no Non-veg rule, which somewhat made it worse. And then pandemic happened which made me come back to my home and isolate even more.

I was eating at my home. The eggs and chicken. But I guess when B12 levels drop too low, it needs good medication to give it a boost.
Adding to this, I also got deficient in D. It actually got worse with an O. So I thought it was POIS.

Some symptoms of POIS made sense to me while others did not. On a tablet, after an O, I do not feel a huge sense of physical pain and depression. So it makes me think I don't have POIS

I do not know how one is supposed to feel after an O when all nutrients are stable. I will update the thread here once I get my levels normal. I still get Brain fog and huge back pain after an O. But it is somewhat reduced.
