How to stop rumination?
« on: August 08, 2024, 10:55:37 AM »
Hello, so I'm wondering has anyone found any ways to stop the rumination on the past? i.e. often remembering moments of arguments with people and not so pleasant memories basically.
And what do you think is the cause of this side effect?

Feed thoughts of kindness and compassion, for yourself and for others :)

It is easier to simply replace negative thoughts than trying to stop them.
Also, expressing gratitude for every little blessings in your life is great too.

After a few weeks of kindness, compassion and gratitude, these thoughts will get momentum, and you will have less and less space for activating the neural pathways of the rumination about the past :)
