My level of relief has receded a bit over the last few months. The prepack still makes life more livable, but wet dreams are a nightmare that are ruining my life. Indomethacin did nothing for me.

Once I am in POIS there is absolutely nothing that helps me so far. Nothing. If I have a NE, I take heaps of fish oil, lethicin, zinc, mg, quercetin, panadol.... but NONE OF THEM DO ANYTHING NOTICEABLE. What do people do in POIS? Hide in your rooms?

Any new ideas?

There is one last option of taking dexamethasone. It is literally the only thing that works for me, it speeds up the healing time.
Other than that I am affraid the POIS is unsolvable. You can try other stuff like NSAID or anti-histamines, it might work for you or it might not.
This illness is unfortunately more of a curse than an illness.

Hi Michael,

Wet dreams happen, obviously, in the REM sleep phase, not in the deep sleep phase, so there is a chance you can wake up after a wet dream ( I usually do, and you can develop this "abiity").  When I do wake up, I take my pre-pack immediately, because I always have a prepared pre-pack in a pill bottle at my bedside, with some water.   It is better to take it in advance, but I still have a good level of relief if I take it immediately after, or as soon as I wake up and realize I had a NE.

If you know you average period between NE, you can also do "preventive releases" with a pre-pack before a NE happens.  I know the signs for myself, like morning wood are more stiff and there are some spasms in the PG muscles, sign the tension is building up, nd that a NE may happen in the coming days  ( that is for a "natural" NE not triggered by a specific stress or a specific source of sexual stimulation of my brain during the day, just by accumulating semen or sexual tension building up over days and weeks).

I also avoid visual stimulation, like looking at attractive females for too long...  I know, it is quite normal to look to a beautiful woman, but I tend, now, to look them in the eyes, and modulate this attractiveness so that it resonates more in the heart than in the genitals !  Obviously, I have banned even soft porn from my internet habits, not even looking for female celebs photographs on the internet, because even when dressed, they tend to look as sexy and attractive as possible, which is kind of part of their job... ( again, if I compare myself to other, this may seems like not normal and frustrating, but I do not compare myself to others anymore and take me as I am, and act accordingly ).  Passion and interest in life can be expressed in many other ways than in sex, so I am not a less happy person for that.

I also have noted that it is best for me to avoid eating too much during the evening, because an irritated or bloated stomach seems to raise the probabilities of a NE.

I am sure you may also identify some personal triggers for your NE.

I do not know how old you are, but a with time, NE are getting more rare, as Demo have already pointed out.  So, I do not have to do preventive releases very often now, maybe once every 2 to 3 weeks, and it is usually not necessary because I am in a long term relationship, so I just use my pre-pack before sexual activity ( and my spouse is ok with a less frequent activity, she knows and is understanding about my POIS ) If someone has NE frequency that is not more than once a week, a "preventive release" a week with a pre-pack taken before should help.

Keep searching for what works for you, Michael, and try to note every single aspect of your behavior or physical and mental state that may seem to lead to a NE, and to know what is you true, real NE frequency when no stress or specific factor comes in a trigger one sooner than expected.

There is also one other last option, but you'll need your doctor's approval. Try to take Phenoxybenzamine right before sleep when you feel like you might have a NE during sleep. This might help in lessening POIS symptoms by decreasing semen's contact with the urethra.

Thanks for the suggestions. I already do what you suggested Quantum. I need to have a release approximately every 4-5 days to avoid a NE. I'm 35. Beyond 5 days is a risk and I don't take it. My prepack is now about 60-70% effective but 30-40% POIS is still too much to have a stable life. I cannot act normally for example if I had a meeting the day following orgasm, even with a prepack. Public speaking is impossible for 2-3 days after orgasm.

I am just amazed at how nobody here has a single remedy, natural or not, to significantly reduce symptoms after POIS. Prepacks are useful beforehand. But it is so challenging to have to schedule and balance every single damn release at times of the week that are least demanding. Not to mention living with the fear of NEs which totally ruin your life at the drop of a hat.

Agree Nas, it's a damn curse.

I tried Indomethacin, did sweet FA. Nothing.

No idea where to go from here.

POIS since 2000. Very bad since 2008. I knew that I have POIS since June 2010. Desensitization since March 2011. I stopped with desens in July 2016. I have 50% less POIS. And only 1 day of POIS. Purified CBD works for me, but I am allergic for CBD.

I just had to re-post this, it is a teriffic expression of the horrors of the mostly uncontrollable NE
10 years of significant POIS-reduction, treatment consisting of daily (365 days/year) testosterone patches.

TRT must be checked out carefully with your doctor due to fertility, cardiac and other risks.

40+ years of severe 4-days-POIS, married, raised a family, started/ran a business
