I got blood tests about two months ago and my iron levels are more than ok. I've been suffering POIS for more than 10 years and never, ever been iron deficient.

I have seen 2 or 3 Pois cases improving their symptoms after iron supplementation (under MD orders).
Iron is a cofactor of dopamine so this is a theory we put on the table 10 years ago.
But most of bloodtest we have show normal iron levels.
In my personal case, I have blood cells parameters at high levels so I don't want to take iron without a clear deficit.
Taurine = Anti-Pois

Thank you b_jim, scrub.  My doc had not advised me to take iron or as matter of fact any supplement even though my Iron levels were normal though on lower range.  I researched on hair loss and small fiber neuropathy that I am also experiencing.  So I have been taking Iron for last 3 days.  Frankly taking Iron has had a very pleasant effect on neuropathy itself.  I no longer am facing that uncomfortable tingling / prickling in my peripherals, I feel so very calm, so energetic.  However my skin has turned visibly grayish and pale, as if someone took my photo and made it monochrome, strange I did not expect Iron to do this.
