What are your symptoms post NE?
« on: March 04, 2016, 10:06:12 AM »
So this is how it goes for me when I have NE. I would like to see if there are similar experiences.

Once I have a NE, I go clean up shower for a bit then go back to sleep. But then I find it hard to get back to sleep and my sleep quality is drastically reduced. I feel like my body has been drained of some vital energy that was keeping me together. I wake up feeling really fatigued. Socially I feel retarded, and do not feel like speaking. Speaking becomes difficult. Caffeine does not alleviate the fatigue. Supplements do not alleviate the fatigue. And even though I feel so tired, I can't even nap. It's truly bullshit.

However usually the next day I feel much better.

I also wanted to ask if there was anyone here or anyone that you know of in this forum who does not experience POIS from sex? I have not have had sex in a long time and as a result my memory feels a little distorted. But if I try and recall after sex with women I do not think I experience POIS symptoms. Only from masturbation and NE. Is there anyone else here like this?

I'll have to have sex again to see if it is true.

Hello Iamnobodi

I'd like to let you know how I see the symptoms to sex verses masturbation. As a youngster I remember being in fear when confronting sex for the first time. I was afraid to how my girlfriend would react seeing me in a POIS state. I came up with excuses to not have sex but eventually gave in and so we had sex. I remember 1st time being amazed at symptoms not as aggressive as expected. And relieved I was!!! It would almost make one think that the brain has control over this problem to preventing the symptoms. And therefore could be forgiven to think that this problem is psychological. (DHAT). But don't think I had no symptoms I very much had a feeling that it was somehow changing the chemistry inside me. (still less alert, less spontaneous, slower thinking, less happy feeling all this sometimes without realising it but basically a lower form of suffering) As months and sex experience goes along. I realised that changing particular positions and hard sex would make symptoms worse. Worse case scenario: have repeated rough sex over 1 to 2 days, perhaps also add extra symptoms by doing something that triggers known allergies to yourself, perhaps you have asthma or hay-fever or other and get one of them triggered too. I bet under these circumstances you could end up in such a dire situation that you likely wanting to be taken to hospital for breathing problems. This type of circumstance is normally rare though but has been reported and can also confirm this worse case experience. You can call it a POIS attack.

I think that if you masturbate and you try do it as slow as possible even if feels frustrating. For example over half hour or even 40 min and you basically do everything to prevent PE. You are basically teasing yourself. Your mind must never be in a rushed state. If you try and control yourself mentally you could repeatedly prevent ejaculation until eventually sperm comes out slowly sometimes bit by bit. In these circumstances the symptoms generally feel less aggressive.(Or come on much slower)
I think that it's because of these situations that one is looking into the vagal nerve for solutions in relieving our symptoms with a possible "diagnosis"!  Although I think the root of the problem is more likely to be immune related. But if the root of the problem is ever going to be found, is a big mystery. Previously at one stage I thought the problem was more likely to be andrology related though.
I have to admit that if I program myself to be 100% feeling good and the days thereafter when I have the slightest thought of sex or see a sex scene on tv, magazine, etc. I can already sense something is already being triggered off in body. --->for me I see this part as an immune signal response. All the symptoms severity thereafter are therefore probably vagal related.

I can also confirm that NE is the most frustrating of all as I can get them at any moment (usually at night). Feeling drained the next day or having difficulty going back to sleep if it awakened me. It can sometimes also cause me to freeze in my sleep and make me sleep for much longer than normal but still feel fatigued when awake. This is most frustrating with daily engagements, obligations such as work, appointments etc. I would do anything to get rid of NE alone.

Few days ago I did have NE (uncommon for me). For me it's easy to fall back to sleep, and upon waking up I did feel some symptoms like the ones you mentioned. However, it's not as severe for me as the ones I experience from a regular O.

From sex, my symptoms are usually much less severe (similar to NE). I also found out that the more foreplay and longer experience leading up to orgasm, the less my symptoms will be afterwards. Sex is really good for my symptoms. I highly recommend hardcore, good, drawn-out sex to anyone as a masturbation substitute, if possible. If you're abstaining you can still have sex without having orgasm (might be difficult for some). Why this helps? No idea other than intimacy with people is better than with hand.

My symptoms are exactly same as you, Iamnobodi. I wake up extremely fatigued (literally more than extreme), no concentration, no interest in anything, insomnia, blurred vision, teary eyes, rapid heart rate, tingling feeling & so on. The worst part is that I get NE every time I sleep, there's no scope for symptoms to go away. I can't really figure out why I'm cursed with this much NE's. Improving diet & sleep quality didn't work nor did exercising (it given more fatigue instead). Tried abstinence & sometimes more masturbation as experiments. However none of them interferes with NE's. No sh*t actually seems to work. Yes I'm the only one.

Raj, my most brutal POIS experiences were NE-related. It seems so unfair!!

No idea other than intimacy with people is better than with hand.

The magnitude of post-orgasmic prolactin increase is a neurohormonal index of sexual satiety.
We report that for both sexes, the magnitude of prolactin increase following intercourse is 400% greater than that following masturbation.
The results are interpreted as an indication of intercourse being more physiologically satisfying than masturbation, and discussed in light of prior research reporting greater physiological and psychological benefits associated with coitus than with any other sexual activities.
