Is Niacin causing eczema?
« on: March 27, 2013, 03:28:16 PM »
I am using Niacin since last summer. Since then I also have atopic dermatitis on my legs and eczema on my neck.
I actually am not sure that the 2 things are related, the flush could be a factor, or maybe it is another pois effect or who knows.
my dermatologist prescribed an ointment wich seems to be resolving it.
I usually try to use the minimum amount necessary to get a flush (100mg in the morning on an empty stomach once a week)
I'm wondering if someone else is experiencing the same

Hello poisoiq, I sent you an email few minutes ago about this topic, since I have been experiencing the same symptoms you're describing since last summer. And also I had used an ointment which is giving good results.

I'm also "bumping" this thread to know if there are more people experiencing it-

I tried niacin for around 2 weeks, took 250mg twice a day. Each time I took a dose I would get big red blotches on my neck and arms - no eczema however.
Unfortunately niacin didn't help my POIS at all. Interestingly, I also get a flush like this after taking GABA.
