Vasodilation and it's connection with various treatments
« on: November 18, 2014, 02:59:28 AM »
I have noticed that many of the proposed treatments on this site lead to vasodilation. Ex. Niacin, Viagra, and Beta blockers. I have also seen that many users do not receive relief from niacin if they do not have flushing. Flushing is a result of the small blood vessels in the skin dilating (vasodilation). Maybe vasodilation is the key to POIS prevention?  As a test, some of us should orgasm while taking a very hot shower.  When the body heats up, the blood vessels dilate to keep it's temperature down. I'm wondering if this effect may be comparable to the one produced by niacin.

I m sorry, i thinck it s the opposite.

I took humex and see some results
humex= paracetamol, pseudoephedrine
then paracetamol alone, no results
pseudoephedrine alone, good results .... For a while

I have been exploring this hypothesis myself through Sauna use.  I don't have conclusive results yet but have seen some benefits.

I feel great after sauna, and think really clearly.  I am also trying to eat healthy after sauna use to get nutrients delivered and absorbed into my body.  The sauna seems to improve sleep, skin quality, general well being, thinking, etc.

But so far I have not seen a perfect long term cure.  It may be the case that we need long term repeated vasodilation over and over again to train our bodies.

I will keep experimenting and reporting my results in coming weeks

While searching for a mechanism to explain the symptoms of POIS, I came up with a novel idea.

I learned that milky or cloudy urine usually comes from the lymphatic system via the kidneys. The lymphatic system drains off excess fluids in the body, so semen could be getting into our lymph due to some physical abnormality in the reproductive system. How this translates into all the other symptoms we experience in POIS, I am not sure yet.

However, that would explain why many of the remedies described on these forums are also things that help cleanse the lymphatic system. This includes exercise, bromelain, quercetin, deep breathing, laughing, dietary changes, saunas, garlic, sleep, and hot/cold showers. Vasodilation increases lymph flow.
