Meditation and ASMR
« on: October 01, 2013, 08:48:18 PM »
Whenever I am a state of anxiety, particularly during a POIS relapse, I listen to meditative music to calm me down mentally - which in turn heals my physically.

Here is a couple of songs/pieces I like to listen to to really calm those nerves. This is especially effective with whatever medication or therapy you are taking at the moment. Try not to think of it as a crutch but perhaps as a door to another you.

Here's a list. Please post whatever music calms you, it may help someone else. I will try to update the first thread periodically.

Eric Whitacre - Sleep: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxjWNJU8rNE

Eric Whitacre - Waternight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ixP0NiGZnw

Sigur R?s - ?ra B?tur https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VvB_UmmIzk

Yoko Kanno - Bonus Clip (Wolf's Rain) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXJbCR3C_-M

Jonathon Goldman - Meditation for the 7 Chakras https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiwtS-pSSjw (Thanks Daveman)

There's also something called ASMR, which stands for Autonomous sensory meridian response. It's slight minimalistic sounds of everyday life (or similar) that creates a euphoric tingling sensation. It's like for example. Close your eyes, and imagine a nice brisk breeze blowing on you, and you feel a slight tingle on your back. It's that feeling, and it's a great meditative state to be in, in my opinion.

Here's a small example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwPjNU_UYDU

But you can find many more here: http://www.reddit.com/r/asmr/

Or youtube "ASMR" and bunch many many excellent selections.

Hope this appeals to a few of you guys out there. Keep strong, my friends!

Thanks Suppertime
WITHOUT RESEARCH THERE WILL BE NO CURE!
Sessions 5 to 9 days, mostly Flu-like, joints, digestion problems, light cognitive.
Niacin has changed my lif though, now 1 day MAX.
Somewhere in this interaction with Niacin is the answer!

Hey,

All that is a very good idea ; I discovered meditation a while ago and read a lot about it ; it's very interesting stuff ; Researcher discovered that for exemple, when you meditate you raise your white blood cells. With training, it is a very powerfull method for healing and feeling happy.

I use binaural waves/beats ; there is plenty on you tube ; the effect of BW is not well known, but it's vaporize anxiety on me

If someone would like to learn how to really meditate. Read the book, "Initiation into hermetics" by Franz Bardon.
