Hi,
I absolutely should not touch caffeine with POIS as it makes the symptoms much worse. Without POIS coffee tastes and feels great.

Caffeine makes everything worse even outside of POIS. Though,  I love coffee and am drinking it as I write sitting on a lovely back patio of a city coffee shop. I keep it reasonable.

Tea, however, will help you if it's of the green variety. Also, I've made a tea of turmeric which reduces inflammation and I'm suspicious that it helps my POIS symptoms.

FloppyBanana & Pony, thank you for sharing your experiences..I prefer tea, green tea as it contains less caffeine from coffee and doesnt cause me nervousness..I used to drink coffee a lot, especially the place where i live everyone is drinking coffee..But i stopped when i found out that something is wrong with me and i mean POIS plus i couldnt sleep easily when i drinked so quiting helped me sleep easier and helped me dealing with POIS..Sleep is essential :)

Can't tell sometimes it helps(I can't imagine waking up without coffe)...but most of the time, apart the first morning coffee, it makes me more tired and brain fogged

Caffeine helps me focus in the short term, but if I drink it too late, it might keep me awake longer than usual. If I need a quick energy or focus boost, I'll drink an energy drink. Also, something my gf and I enjoy occasionally is a latte (this is pretty much just espresso and milk, but still has come caffeine). Overall, I'd say caffeine helps me more than hurts me as long as I don't drink it too often or too late!

If I'm foggy and I need to study or work on an assignment, I find that 300mg in pill form helps some. Anything under that does nothing.
I have both physical and psychological symptoms for about 6 days. Muscle soreness, pain in the prostate and warmth in the pelvic area, fatigue, lack of motivation, irritability, confusion, inability to focus, forgetting obligations, difficulty communicating, difficulty interacting with others.

Caffeine affects my POIS like this: Sometimes when I'm tired from POIS I would drink coffee, but where coffee when not in POIS would give me a moderate "crash" after 6-7 hours, drinking coffee while in POIS multplies this crash to an extent where I feel that I cannot function at all. I've had periods where I've felt so drained from the pois combined with this crash that I felt like my brain couldn't function and the only thing for me to do was to lie down until I felt better.

So I try to avoid caffeine while in POIS.
