Doubt about POIS
« on: July 25, 2014, 03:18:27 PM »
Hi,
First, sorry for my bad english.
I am new at this, and I will tell what happens to me.
Now, I am 21. Since I am 19, I experiment a strange symptoms after I have sex with my girlfriend, but only if I have penetration. If I masturbate I have not any symptom.
The symptoms are burning eyes, mental block and irritability. I am just fine in my dark room. It can last a few days (2-3 days).
At first, I believed that I have latex allergy, and I bought hypoallergenic condoms, but with them I have the same symptoms.
It?s very strange because I have not semen allergy, how all POIS sufferer. It is psychological.
I have read that niacin can help. What do you recommend me?

Very thanks.

Hello Javier

Welcome to the forum. I hope you find the support and the help you need in here. and don't worry, your english is really fine. I can understand and relate to 100% of what you are saying. your case is actually pretty interesting, it is kind of similar to this case http://poiscenter.com/forums/index.php?topic=1317

I recommend you go through the forums and check all the successfully tried treatments. POISers don't respond in the same way to medications.

Good Luck

Hi Javier,

Does you skin go red if you leave semen on it? It sounds like you need to have a semen allergy test to start with. A subcutaneous semen skin test would best. If you can't get that then a standard skin prick test will do. Have fun asking for that with the allergist:-)

If you have not done already get the POIS medical papers from the forum admins, Demografx and Daveman.

Hi Javi,

If you speak Spanish, I think there are some others on this forum from Spanish-speaking countries who could write to you (Javier is a latin sounding name, or Portuguese?)

Interesting!

I want you to understand something: psychological doesn't mean these symptoms are caused by something you can change or control by your thoughts, or by psychological therapy. Your brain creates you, your identity and your thoughts, and it is an extremely complex organ. Many people, including myself, think our brains have a large part in creating POIS, and I think what we are going to learn from our research study is going to help you understand yourself better. The nerves in our penis, and all over the body, all in some way influence brain function. Learn more about the vagus nerve, and our research study. I think you will find that there is a path to healing that we are moving along.

Welcome
Turmeric and Rosemary 30-45 minutes before orgasm for anti-inflammatory and immune support has helped me a lot. Faster and easier than niacin approach.

Maybe its the movement and pressure during sex which sets things off. I know that with overexertion or just vigorous movement I make symptoms much worse..
