neurologist

Has anyone had any luck with a neurologist. I live in the SE United States and would be willing to travel to Atlanta, Orlando, or Jacksonville, if anyone has had any experience. Does anyone have an idea of what tests need to be done?

Indeed a neurogolist can't really help us .... for the moment.
The levels of neurotransmitters in blood doesn't really help.
But we have now a real chance to understand Pois with new study based on MRI.
So the best thing to do now is to wait.
Taurine = Anti-Pois

I've been to a neurologist a few times.  Honestly I can say that he prominently believed it was migraine headaches that were causing this.  I took treatments and everything and no success.  Since there is nothing in medical literature about POIS they will probably diagnose you as post-coital migraines, which is effectively not POIS.  So in essence, the neurologist didn't help me, my own medication (niacin and olive leaf extract) worked way better than what was prescribed by the neurologist.  Saying that, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't go, as I really don't know your symptoms.  But if you have POIS like I do, I doubt it will help.
My POIS managed with Diet (@ diet that 100% manages my pois)Believe my POIS stems from inflammation in the gut. O = neuro POIS from inflammation from the gut

supps: microdose zyrtec if needed for food sens. ibuprofen for infl. as needed. Melatonin as needed. Big Pinch Black cumin  seeds once daily

"Post-coital headache" in my view could well be the same thing as POIS. Both are not clearly understood in the medical profession.
Dr Dexter who wrote the post-coital headache observational paper refers to post- coital headache and POIS being the same thing when discussing the person in his paper and also the symptoms he sees in me. If you refer to the back of his paper you can see the of other symptoms included other than headache. It is clearly not just a headache problem in that case. The terms "post-coital headache" has been around for decades. POIS is a comparatively new term.
